Recoil is a 1998 action movie directed by Art Camacho. A group of well-armed and heavy armored robbers commit a bank heist in Los Angeles. After a dramatic shootout in 1997 North Hollywood style the police, suffering numerous casualties, manages to overcome the gangsters and kill their leader who appears to be the younger son of mob boss Vincent Sloan. Enraged Sloan orders to kill all five LAPD officers and detectives who were directly involved in the death of his son. The mobsters slain four of the five but in attempt to kill Det. Ray Morgan (Gary Daniels) they only murder his family. Now Morgan goes for a personal revenge.

Revolvers

Smith & Wesson Model 65

During the bank heist Det. Grant (uncredited) is armed with a Smith & Wesson Model 65 revolver with 3" barrel. Model 65 revolvers are also used by Sloan's bodyguards during the shootout on the villa. In this scene Ray Morgan (Gary Daniels) also uses a Model 65 revolver, captured from a bodyguard. Devon Sloan (Francis Fallon), when disguised as a police officer, uses a stainless steel revolver that also appears to be a Model 65.

Smith & Wesson Model 67

During the bank heist Officer Alex Boorman (Maurice Lamont) is armed with a Smith & Wesson Model 67. Model 67 revolvers are also used by Sloan's bodyguards during the shootout on the villa. In this scene Ray Morgan (Gary Daniels) also uses a Model 67 revolver, captured from a bodyguard.

During the shootout on Sloan's villa several bodyguards use snub nose hammerless stainless steel revolvers that appear to be Smith & Wesson Model 642. Ray Morgan (Gary Daniels) also uses one of these revolvers.

Smith & Wesson Model 14

During the shootout on Sloan's villa Ray Morgan (Gary Daniels) holds a long-barreled revolver with a Patridge front sight that appears to be a Smith & Wesson Model 14. A bodyguard is armed with a same looking revolver (see talk page for full discussion).

Unidentified revolvers

During the bank heist a robber disarms a security guard. His revolver appears to be stainless steel J-frame S&W, so Model 60 is a good guess.

Pistols

Beretta 92FS Inox

Beretta 92FS Inox is Det. Ray Morgan's (Gary Daniels) sidearm. In some scenes he dual-wields this pistol with a Taurus PT92.

Most LAPD detectives and officers, including Captain Trent (Thomas Kopache), are armed with Taurus PT92 pistols. Det. Ray Morgan (Gary Daniels) uses a PT92 dual with his Beretta 92FS Inox.

Marcus Sloan (uncredited) uses a Glock 17 during the bank heist in the opening scene.

Sloan's second-in-command Brown (Billy Maddox) carries a Glock 19. In the final scene Vincent Sloan (Richard Foronjy) and his son Nicholas (Vincent DePalma) use Glock 19s.

Heckler & Koch MP5A2 SMGs are used by Marcus Sloan's gang in the opening scene and by Vincent Sloan's henchmen in the final scene.

Cobray M11/9

During the final shootout several of Sloan's henchmen are armed with Cobray M11/9 SMGs.

Mossberg 500

During the bank heist several police officers use Mossberg 500 shotguns. The shotguns proved useless against the North Hollywood shootout-style heavy armor of robbers.

During the bank heist Det. Lucas Cassidy (Gregory McKinney) fires a bolt action sniper rifle that appears to be a Mauser 98 Sporter.

Several of Sloan's henchmen are armed with M16 carbines during the final shootout. Armscor M16 22 or mockup seems to be a good guess.

Mk 2 Hand Grenade

Marcus Sloan (uncredited) and other robbers use Mk 2 hand grenades during the bank heist and the following car chase. Ray Morgan (Gary Daniels) uses a Mk 2 in the final scene.
