Ratas,ratones,rateros (In English as: Rats, mice, pickpockets) is a 1999 ecuatorian film directed by Sebastian Cordero that explores one of the common problems that the country is going through to date, crime being the main problem, however in this film it does not intend to generate a bad image of the country despite its beauty of architecture, history and diversity that It attracts tourists from all over the world.

What the film explains is the world in which the protagonists live, here Salvador is a young thief from Quito who finds himself immersed in an ever-increasing delinquency spiral after the arrival of his cousin Ángel from Guayaquil, an ex-convict, in his life. Little by little, the young man loses the few things that made sense in his existence.

The movie had its international premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 7, 1999 to later be released on December 24 of that same year.
