Rapid Fire (1992)

Rapid Fire is a 1992 martial arts action film starring Brandon Lee, Powers Boothe, Nick Mancuso, and Tzi Ma, directed by Dwight H. Little (Marked for Death, Murder At 1600). This was Brandon Lee's first film as fight choreographer, and his second to last starring role. Brandon Lee was reportedly in talks for a sequel right before his tragic death on the set of The Crow.

Trivia: When Brandon Lee was in Sweden doing promotion for Rapid Fire, he filmed a cameo as a favor to director Richard Holm. This cameo, in the Swedish film Sex, lögner & videovåld (Sex, Lies and Video Violence), released six years after his death, would be his final screen credit.

Smith & Wesson 39

Taurus PT92AFS

Agents Daniels (Quentin O'Brien) and Anderson (Jeff McCarthy) use suppressed Taurus PT92AFS pistols to try to kill Jake Lo. Jake later takes Anderson's.

Suppressors are screwed in. It's clear in this shot that the suppressor is being INTO the barrel, not ONTO the barrel.(Apparently Anderson and Daniels were okay with performing a mob hit with their service weapons.)

Smith & Wesson 659

In two separate continuity errors, the Taurus PT92AFS's turns into Smith & Wesson 659.

Smith & Wesson 659 - 9x19mm. This is the Screen used Hero Gun held and fired by "Mister Pink" Steve Buscemi in the film Reservoir Dogs.

Daniels' PT92AFS is now a S&W 659. This might have to do with the fact that Jake is able to kick the pistol out of Daniels' hands and onto the bed.

FBI Special Agent Frank Stewart (Raymond J. Barry) draws his S&W 659.

Jake fled the scene with Anderson's PT92AFS, but now it is a S&W 659. The Beretta 92F in his left hand he drew from the henchman's holster.

Detective Karla Withers (Kate Hodge) draws a Smith & Wesson Model 36 when she encounters Jake for the first time.

Beretta 92F

Beretta 92F pistols are seen at various times.

Beretta 92F - 9x19mm. The cosmetic differences are very slight and hard to see between this gun and the newer 92FS. Most of the changes are the inner workings of the gun.

A nickel SIG-Sauer P226 pistol chambered in 9x19mm. This is another real movie gun and has been adapted to fire full flash motion picture blanks.

Chang's henchmen carry Cobray M11/9 submachine guns in underarm slings.

Serrano's henchmen carry Heckler & Koch SP89s converted to full auto. Some have MP5K foregrips.

A "faux" Heckler & Koch MP5K - this is an original SP89 pistol converted to full auto fire by a Class III armorer. Giveaways are the lack of a paddle magazine release. This version was also used in movies between 1989 and the late 1990s when factory original MP5Ks were not available - 9x19mm.

Micro Uzi

Antonio Serrano (Nick Mancuso) uses a two-tone Micro Uzi for part of the film. (It appears to be the same customized Micro Uzi from Total Recall and Predator 2.) Jake later takes it away from him.
