The Raid 2, also known as The Raid 2: Berandal, is a 2014 Indonesian/American sequel to 2011's The Raid: Redemption written, edited and directed by Gareth Evans, who performed the same duties on the first film. Iko Uwais returns as Rama, along with a few other actors from the first film. Yayan Ruhian, who played Mad Dog in the first film, returns as a different character.

Writer and director Gareth Evans had started working on another script, Berandal, as a follow-up to his first film, Merantau, but eventually moved onto The Raid: Redemption for cost reasons. Berandal was then adapted as a sequel to The Raid: Redemption.

Like the first film, airsoft and replica weapons were used in place of real firearms, with CGI shell casings, muzzle flash and smoke added digitally in post-production.

The following weapons were used in the film The Raid 2:

Handguns

Beretta 92FS

Beretta 92FS pistols are seen in the hands of both cops and gangsters.

Beretta 92FS - 9x19mm
One of Bunawar's men points a Beretta at Wahyu (most likely not played by Pierre Gruno, since his face is never seen.)
One of Bejo's henchman with his Beretta, as he struggles with Rama/Yuda (Iko Uwais) in the back of an SUV.

Glock 17

Glock 17 pistols are seen in the hands of both cops and gangsters.

3rd Generation Glock 17 - 9x19mm. Note the finger grooves, thumb reliefs, and accessory rail on the frame, which differentiate it from the older model.
Bunawar and his men approach the van from the first film.

Smith & Wesson Model 327 (airsoft)

Uco (Arifin Putra) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 327 later in the film. Bejo (Alex Abbad) uses it as well. A closeup reveals that this is a Japanese-made Tanaka replica.

A closeup reveals "Made in Japan" and "Tanaka" etched below the cylinder. Note the rather large gap between the cylinder and barrel, and the lack of flash, which should be present while firing a real revolver.
Bejo takes the S&W 327 from Uco.

Beretta 93R

Eka (Oka Antara) uses a Beretta 93R while trying to retrieve Rama/Yuda.
