QBU-10 - 12.7x108mm

The QBU-09 - is an experimental prototype, developed during the creation of a new large-caliber sniper rifle for the Chinese army. After a series of tests and improvements, prototype was offered to the military in mid-2010 already under the designation QBU-10. Since 2011, the rifle began to enter service with the special units of the People's Liberation Army of China.

The design of the rifle uses a gas-operated automatic system with a gas piston located above the barrel with a short stroke. The safety is located above the pistol grip on the left side of the weapon. The barrel is equipped with a massive muzzle brake. Additionally, the rifle barrel has the ability to rollback in the receiver when fired. The rifle is equipped with open sights on folding bases. However, the standard sight is a special optoelectronic complex mounted on a Picatinny rail on the receiver. The rifle's sighting system includes a daytime optical channel, a night infrared channel, a laser rangefinder and a ballistic computer. The main controls of the sighting complex are brought out to its body, in addition the sight has a remote block of buttons fixed on the pistol grip of the rifle and connected to the sighting complex with a wire. The QBU-10 uses a 12.7x108 mm caliber, including Chinese-developed cartridges with an armor-piercing sub-caliber bullet and special sniper cartridges of increased accuracy
