Prisoner of the Mountains (original title Kavkazskiy plennik, Кавказский пленник) is a 1996 Russian war drama movie directed by Sergey Bodrov Sr. (A Yakuza's Daughter Never Cries) and starring Oleg Menshikov and Sergey Bodrov Jr..

Pistols

Makarov PM

In one scene a Russian soldier barters a Makarov PM for two bottles of vodka. Later the shopkeeper sells the pistol to an old Chechen.

Shotguns

IZh-18

Abdul-Murat (Jemal Sikharulidze) and his servant Hasan (Aleksandr Bureyev) both carry very battered single barreled shotguns that appear to be old IZh-18s (modern versions of this shotgun are known as Baikal MP-18).

In one scene an Over and Under Shotgun is seen in hands of a Chechen. It resembles Baikal MP-27 (previously known as IZh-27).

Assault rifles

AKS-47

In the opening scene Sanya (Oleg Menshikov) is seen with an AKS-47. An AKS is also seen in hands of a Chechen fighter.

AKM

In the scene of ambush Sanya (Oleg Menshikov) uses an AKM. Due to continuty error it switches several times from standard AKM to the one with GP-25 underbarrel grenade launcher and back again. Many Chechen fighters are also armed with AKMs.

AKMS

Several Chechen fighters carry AKMS assault rifles. In the final scene Maj. Maslov (Aleksei Zharkov) uses an AKMS.

In the final scene several Mi-24 attack helicopters appear. They are armed with Yakushev-Borzov Yak-B machine guns.

Other Weapons

GP-25

During the Chechen ambush Sanya (Oleg Menshikov) uses an AKM with GP-25 grenade launcher. Due to continuty error Sanya's gun switches several times from standard AKM to the one with GP-25 and back again.
