The following guns were used in the film Pale Rider:

Pale Rider (1985)

Remington 1858 New Army

Preacher (Clint Eastwood) carries a Remington 1858 New Army with a cartridge conversion as his sidearm in the film, and carries several pre-loaded cylinders like modern speedloader.

Remington 1858 New Army Percussion - .44 Caliber.
Preacher aims his Remington 1858 New Army at Josh LaHood (Chris Penn).
Preacher changes cylinders.
Preacher pushes the cylinder rod back, locking the cylinder in place.

Preacher holds his Remington 1858 on Stockburn (Jon Russell).

Remington 1858 Pocket

Preacher (Clint Eastwood) uses a Remington 1858 Pocket .31 caliber as a backup, carrying it stuck into his belt. Like all the other guns in the film, it is converted to fire metallic cartridges.

Preacher's Remington 1858 Pocket stuck in his belt.
A closer shot of the Remington Pocket stuck in Preacher's belt as he draws his full sized Remington on Stockburn (John Russell).
Preacher delivers the coupe de grace to Stockburn.

Colt 1860 Army

Stockburn's (John Russell) six "deputies" carry Colt 1860 Army revolvers that are actually converted to fire metallic blank cartridges. Many other characters in the film carry them as well, including Josh LaHood (Chris Penn).

Colt 1860 Army - .44 Caliber.
Josh LaHood tries to draw his Colt 1860 Army on Preacher but is too slow. Likely due to his awkward cross-draw holster.
Josh tries to pick up his Colt Army after it is shot from his hand but is shot in the hand by Preacher. Note how you can see metallic cartridges in the cylinder.
Stockburn's men level their Colt Army revolvers on Spider Conway (Doug McGrath).
Deputy Grissom (Jack Radosta) fires his Colt Army at Spider.
Deputy Mather (Billy Drago) fires his Colt Army at Spider.
Deputy Kobold (Robert Winley) fires his Colt Army.
Deputy Tucker (John Dennis Johnston) fires his Colt Army.
Deputy Sedge (Jeffrey Josephson) fires his Colt Army.
Deputy Folke (S.A. Griffin) fires his Colt Army.

Colt 1860 Army with Richards Conversion

Stockburn (John Russell) carries a Colt 1860 Army with a Richards conversion to shoot metallic cartridges.

Colt 1860 Army with Richards Conversion.
One of Stockburn's thugs kills Megan Wheeler's (Sydney Penny) dog with a Richards conversion Colt Army.
Stockburn makes Spider (Doug McGrath) dance.
Stockburn shoots Spider's gold clump. Note the frame ring-mounted rear sight, an indication this is a Richards conversion, and not a Richards-Mason.
Stockburn kills Spider with a head shot, since a hail of his deputies' bullets apparently isn't enough to kill him.
Stockburn tries to draw his Colt Army after being shot up by Preacher.

Sharps 1874
