Oliver Stone is an Academy Award-winning American director known for helming such controversial films as JFK and Natural Born Killers. A Vietnam veteran, Stone also directed several films about the war, including Heaven & Earth, Born on the Fourth of July (for which he received the Oscar for Best Director), and Platoon (the film received Oscars for Best Director and Best Picture).
