Oba: The Last Samurai
Oba: The Last Samurai (Also known in Japan as 太平洋の奇跡−フォックスと呼ばれた男, Miracle of the Pacific: The Man Called Fox) is a 2011 Japanese-American war film based on the real life story of Captain Sakae Ōba (Yutaka Takenouchi), whom led a band of former IJA soldiers-turned guerrillas against the US Marines occupying Saipan.

Sidearms
Colt M1911A1
Captain Lewis (Sean McGowan) and Lieutenant Lang (James Judd) use the Colt M1911A1 in combat.
FN Model 1910
Captain Sakae Ōba (Yutaka Takenouchi) can be seen with an FN Model 1910 sidearm at one scene. This is actually not unrealistic; Japanese officers often bought more reliable European pistols rather then domestic.
Nambu Type 14
A Japanese soldier can be seen using a Nambu Type 14 when leading a patrol.
Walther PP
Captain Sakae Ōba (Yutaka Takenouchi) and other Japanese officers use the Walther PP. This is an odd choice, although it is possible that it was merely purchased as a custom sidearm from China. Many Japanese officers also bought their own sidearms over the standard issue Nambu.
Submachine Guns
M1 Thompson
One of the US Marines can be seen firing an M1 Thompson during the Japanese banzai charge, distinguished by it's L-sight.
M1A1 Thompson
Horiuchi (Toshiaki Karasawa), a Japanese guerrilla, uses an captured M1A1 Thompson. The weapon is also seen in the hands of other US Marines.
Shotguns
Winchester Model 1912 "Trench Gun"
A US Marine can be seen with a Winchester Model 1912 "Trench Gun" on patrol.
Rifles
Arisaka Type 38
Several Japanese soldiers are armed with the Arisaka Type 38.
Arisaka Type 99
The main weapon of the IJA troops is the Arisaka Type 99 last-ditch rifle.
M1 Garand
The main weapon of the US Marines in the film is the M1 Garand.
M2 Carbine
US Marines and Japanese guerrillas use the anachronistic M2 Carbine with 15-round magazines.
Machine Guns
Browning M1919A4
A US Marine gun crew use a Browning M1919A4 mounted on an M2 tripod to repel a Japanese banzai charge.
Browning M2HB
A Browning M2HB, mounted on an M3 tripod, can be seen in a Marine foxhole.
Type 99 Light Machine Gun
The Type 99 Light Machine Gun is used by Japanese soldiers. Chieko Aono (Mao Inoue) attempts to fire one in one scene, although it malfunctions.
Flamethrowers
M1A1 Flamethrower
A US Marine can be seen with an M1A1 Flamethrower in one scene. Note that it appears to be strapped on upside-down.
Grenades
Mk 2 Hand Grenade
Horiuchi (Toshiaki Karasawa) uses a captured Mk 2 Hand Grenade. Note that it is painted yellow, although the yellow Mk 2 grenades had been phased out for olive-drab colors in 1942, two years before the Battle of Saipan.
Type 97 Hand Grenade
The Type 97 Hand Grenade is seen as a part of Japanese booby-traps.
