New Police Story is the 2004 "reboot" of Jackie Chan's Police Story movie franchise. Also released under the international title "Xin jing cha gu shi", this film has a more serious action tone than the comedic turns of the previous four films.

The following weapons were used in the film New Police Story:

New Police Story (2004) The weapon in Jackie Chan’s hand appears to be an amalgamation of a Beretta 92 series pistol and a Glock created by the Photoshop department

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is shown as the primary side arm of the Hong Kong Police CIB teams. Jackie also takes one at the end of the movie to compete with Joe one last time in who can assemble their guns the fastest. We see both the 2nd and 3rd generations in this movie

Glock 18

Joe's sidearm throughout the film is the Glock 18.

Heckler & Koch MP5A2/A3

The A3 are used by the SDU Team during their raid on the Convention center (Tactical Lights and Laser Devices are seen attached to their weapons). Is seen once briefly in the hands of one of the CIB team members during the opening gun fight. One of the gang members in the first bank robbery used an A2 with tri-rails and a foregrip.

Heckler & Koch G3 SG1

Is seen in the hands of Joe equipped with a scope in the opening fire fight.

Something's weird about the color of this gun - I almost wonder if it's a Tokyo Marui airsoft G3/SG1.
I thought so too that it might be a toy, but in the actual shooting scene, we seen this gun fire. Excalibur01 19:42, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
OK, well, just wondering. It's a bit harder to get guns in Hong Kong, so I figured they might occasionally use airsoft for non-firing weapons.
I concur that the image of the 'gun' when not firing and pointed at the actor IS the Tokyo Marui gun. I had someone who had this airsoft gun bring it over so that I could compare the "light grey" color of the receiver (which is nothing like the real gun). He looked at the picture and (since he is an airsoft expert and I'm not), he swore that it was indeed an Airsoft SG1 rifle. So they must have swapped out a live fire gun when firing, but the image right here is an airsoft weapon. MoviePropMaster2008 07:11, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
They might have used non firing when pointing it at people up close, but I can see shells being ejected from this rifle and the AR15 custom, so those can't possibly be aisoft, but the H&K 51 might be in question, though I can see the bolt working. Excalibur01 19:57, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Heckler & Koch 51

Is seen used by Joe in the convention center. It is the shortest variant of the G3 produced.

This is actually an HK51. Tokyo Marui calls their version the MC51. Yet another apparent airsoft gun. Any screenshots of the guns actually firing? I would be able to tell you if they're shooting blanks or if the muzzle flashes are CG (an indication of airsoft).
I'm trying to get a cap, but it's kinda hard since we see this happen for a split second, but I do see the bolt working

Smith & Wesson Model 10

Is seen vaguely in use by several regular uniformed officers in the opening gun battle and convention center

Custom AR-15

Is seen being used by Sue Chow in the opening gun fight fitted with an ACOG scope (Most likely replica because it doesn't have the holo-strip that is found on top of the real ACOG)and two magazines clamped together. From one shot, it definitely looks like someone took the upper reciever of a flat top M4, gave it a shorter barrel and slapped it onto a lower reciever with a solid stock

M4A1

A most likely M4A1 was seen on the floor at the end of the movie during the final shootout in the hands of Max, who abandons it.

L85A2

During the opening shooting scene, we see one of the gang members with this rifle.

That appears to be an airsoft SA80 in the screen grab. What gives it away is the specific color of the green hand guard and the fact that the charging handle and bolt appear to be black plastic. All of the real SA80s have matte stainless bolts and charging handles (except for the upgraded versions where they place that green plastic upward 'leaf' handle). Does this rifle fire in the film? MoviePropMaster2008 07:15, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
Nope, it didn't fire in the film, so I figured it was a prop since this movie was made in Hong Kong and I don't know if they would have been able to get their hands on a real SA80 Excalibur01 19:48, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

We also got some continuity error since in the shootout scene in the streets, this was quickly changed to a Bushmaster M17S, most likely for shooting purpose. Excalibur01 12:10, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
