The Molot Bekas (the name "bekas" means "jack-snipe") is a Russian pump-action shotgun based on the KS-23 for the civilian market. The first prototype was developed by TsNIITochMash and represented KS-23 chambered in 16/35 gauge; Molot's designers have improved this design, and produced the first version in limited edition in early 90s. Subsequently, the shotgun was converted to a more powerful 16/70 cartridge, and put into mass production in 1997.
