The Model 15 Stielhandgranate was the first stick grenade used by German troops. It was the predecessor for the [[Model 17 Stielhandgranate]] and the infamous [[Model 24 Stielhandgranate]] that used by the Wehrmacht in WW2. The grenade featured a long stick with a string coming from the bottom attached to the stick with tape. This early model existed in various versions as regards the pot and the stick.
