Mark Twain: Against (Mark Tven protiv...) is a Soviet 1976 made for TV adventure comedy, directed by Mikhail Grigoryev and based on Autobiography of Mark Twain. The story depicts an eposide of Twain's life when he was writing for the Virginia City newspaper in early 1860s.

The following weapons were used in the film Mark Twain: Against (Mark Tven protiv...):

Handguns

Nagant M1895 (visually modified)

Most handguns in the movie are Nagant M1895 revolvers, visually modified to resemble Colt revolvers, such as Colt Police Positive or Colt Official Police (of course, revolvers with such outlook are out of time for 1860s).

Note: see additional images on talk page.

"Ricochet Firing Revolver"

When Mark Twain comes in Aunt Wealler's store to purchase a gun, the old lady suggests a "ricochet firing revolver", a fictional kind of gun that has "a secret flight of the bullet". This gun is a mocked up Nagant, additionally fitted with a muzzle device.

Aunt Wealler (Emiliya Milton) shows the gun to Mark Twain.

Smith & Wesson No.3 Russian Model

Smith & Wesson No.3 Russian Model revolvers are seen in several scenes. They are also out of time for 1860s.

In the scene in Aunt Wealler's store Mark Twain (Oleg Tabakov) holds a percussion cap pepperbox revolver. In his stories Twain often mocked such guns: "To aim along the turning barrel and hit the thing aimed at was a feat which was probably never done..."
