Mannix is a detective TV show created by Richard Levinson and William Link, and produced by Bruce Geller (who also created the espionage series Mission: Impossible). It ran from 1967 to 1975 on the channel CBS alongside M:I.

Mannix followed the life of Los Angeles private investigator Joseph "Joe" Mannix, played by Mike Connors, and his work boss, Lew Wickersham (played by Joseph Campanella). Mannix is of Armenian descent (like Connors himself), and is proficient in most athletics, including being a black belt in Karate, a decent skier, and an excellent pool player. He is also a veteran of the Korean War. In this season, he works for detective firm Intertect. He carries his Intertect-issued Walther PP in this season, but he also carries a Colt Detective Special for his personal use.

The show won the "Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama" in 1971, which was late Season 4 and early Season 5. Mike Connors himself also won an award for his portrayal of Mannix, the 1969 Golden Globe Awards (for which he was nominated six consecutive times) and 4 straight Emmy nominations from 1970 to 1973. Mannix, the series itself, was twice nominated for the Emmy Award for Best Dramatic Series. In 1972, writer Mann Rubin won an Edgar Award from the Mystery Writers of America for the episode "A Step in Time" (S5E03).

The following weapons were used in Season 1 of the television series Mannix:

Pistols

Colt M1911A1

The Colt M1911A1 is prominent, pretty much being the only semi-automatic pistol commonly used besides Mannix's PP. However, Mannix often implies the M1911A1 is double-action - the Colt M1911A1 is SAO.

Colt M1911A1 w/ parkerized finish - .45 ACP.
Mr. Dubrio's chauffeur indirectly threatens Mannix ...
... before taking a more persuasive approach in "The Name is Mannix" (S1E01).
Mannix shoots a target during his annual firearm testing. Despite being locked back here ...
... it is suddenly ready to fire in the next shot.
Mannix fires the M1911A1.
Syndicate member X holds a M1911A1 as he waits for his target to come home in "Skid Marks on a Dry Run" (S1E02).
Mannix disarms X after the former notices the latter following him.
Syndicate member Matt and Mannix struggle over a M1911A1.
Mr. A's chauffeur pulls out his M1911A1 to confront a hiding Mannix in "Nothing Ever Works Twice" (S1E3).
Mr. A's bodyguard and his chauffeur hold their M1911A1s.

Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket

In "Skid Marks on a Dry Run", Ms.X uses a ivory-handled Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket that she keeps in her purse.

Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket (Other side) - .25 ACP
Ms.X pulls out a Vest Pocket while Mannix is temporarily distracted.

Walther PP

The Walther PP Mannix's Intertect-issued sidearm, kept in a bare-bones metal holster. It is rarely seen anywhere else.

Post war Walther PP Pistol - .32 ACP.
Mannix's PP lays on the ground in "Nothing Ever Works Twice"(S1E03). Despite being recently fired, the saftey is on. Also note the plain wooden grips.

Revolvers

Colt Detective Special

Mannix's personal sidearm is a Colt Detective Special. It is also common gun for "goons" to carry and use.

Colt Detective Special 1st Gen with Round Butt - .38 Special
Mannix checks his gun before snapping it shut towards the camera in "The Name is Mannix" (S1E1). This not only tells the viewer that Mannix is serious, it also tells us he could care less about potential mis-alignment.
Mannix holds his Colt DS after checking on Ernie.
The DS is almost dropped as Mannix, hazily, descends a flight of stairs.
Mannix nails a shot from his DS in a helicopter chase scene very similar to the one in From Russia With Love later in the episode.
Mr. Y attempts to fire a shot from his DS but he is stopped short in "Skid Marks on a Dry Run" (S1E02).
After now murder suspect Mannix leaves his Walther PP with Lew, he 'borrows' Lew's DS in "Nothing Ever Works Twice" (S1E03).
Mannix and Ms. Y hide from some intruders in the same episode.
Later, Mannix hijacks a car driven by Sarah's friend Z.
"Don't argue with me! Just drive!"
Mannix points his DS at Z.
Mannix looks at the DS that Mr. A tried to draw on him ...
... before throwing it away and using his own to threaten Mr. A.

Colt Official Police

The Colt Official Police is used by a lot of characters from both sides of the law.

Colt Official Police - 4" Barrel - .38 Special
Angela Dubrio (Barbara Anderson) points her Official Police at Mannix.
A couple of police officers draw their Official Polices in "Nothing Ever Works Twice"(S1E03).
The same officers inspect a crashed car with their revolvers.
Lew Wickersham (Joseph Campanella) busts in with his Official Police at the ready.

Rifles

Winchester Model 70

During the events of "Nothing Ever Works Twice" (S1E02), Z uses a pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 to attempt to assassinate Sarah and later threaten Mr. A and Mannix.

Pre-1964 Winchester Model 70 - .30-06
Z points his Model 70 at Mannix and Sarah.
Z holds the Model 70 as he gains on Mannix and Mr. A
During some customary plot exposition, the viewer gets a look of the barrel and stock.
Realizing that giving exposition doesn't get things done, Z points the rifle at Mannix and Mr.A and shows the bolt and breech of the Model 70. Note the scope mount and present iron-sights.
