Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) The poster image is obviously reversed as the slide release and take down lever are on the wrong side in the photo. The flip was most likely done for aesthetics (although it led to gun confusion). Note the tipped up slide release lever, meaning that the magazine is empty.

Lethal Weapon 2 is the second installment in the Lethal Weapon film franchise. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover return as Detectives Martin Riggs and Roger Murtaugh, who find themselves assigned to protect an accountant (Joe Pesci) whose testimony involves a large money laundering conspiracy that involves South African diplomats during the time of apartheid.

The following weapons were used in the film Lethal Weapon 2:

Pistols

Beretta 92FS

Unlike the original Lethal Weapon (where a Beretta 92F was carried), Detective Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) carries a Beretta 92FS as his primary sidearm in this film, and as such, uses it frequently throughout the film. In a memorable scene, Riggs empties the magazine of his Beretta into one of the main villain's henchmen while remembering the names of his friends and loved ones. Other LAPD detectives are also seen with Berettas.

Smith & Wesson 5906

In addition to his Smith & Wesson Model 19 revolver, Murtaugh also carries a Smith & Wesson 5906 in a shoulder holster. The 5906 also appears to be the weapon carried by Det. Tim Cavanaugh (Dean Norris).

Murtaugh fires the Smith & Wesson 5906 at the South African henchmen during his rescue of Leo at the stilt house. One of the rounds he fires during this shot has no sound effect applied; the weapon can be seen to fire (albeit with very little muzzle flare), yet no sound is heard.

Beretta 92SB-C

During the raid of the South African residence, Detective Collins (Grand L. Bush) can be seen wielding a Beretta 92SB-C. Not a 92FS Centurion or a 92FS Compact, as they weren't released until 1992, and since this film was released in 1989, it would have to be a 92SB Compact Version. It is also noted as a 92SB-C by its rounded trigger guard.
