Let Sleeping Cops Lie (Ne réveillez pas un flic qui dort) is a 1988 French crime movie directed by José Pinheiro and starring Alain Delon as police commissaire Eugène Grindel. Grindel's opponent is his colleague, commissaire Roger Scatti (Michel Serrault) who secretly arranged the ultra-right wing organization among the police. This organization called "Loyalty to the police" was similar to South American death squads. Grindel with several assistants faced with a situation where any police officer could become an enemy... (Note: this isn't a spoiler because the opening scenes of the movie shows Scatti and his death squad at work).

Revolvers

Manurhin MR-73

Most of the police and Gendarmerie officers are armed with Manurhin MR-73 revolvers. Eugène Grindel (Alain Delon) carries a MR-73 Defense model with a 4-inch barrel and rubber grips. Several other MR-73 model are seen as well.

Two of Scatti's men - Valles (Dominique Valera) and Spiero (Stéphane Jobert) - aim their revolvers at Grindel. Valles is armed with an MR-73 while Spiero's revolver is a Manurhin F1.

Commissaire Roger Scatti (Michel Serrault) carries a revolver that is supposed to be Manurhin F1. In the final scene an F1 is seen in hands of inspector Spiero (Stéphane Jobert).

Unidentified revolver

Police inspector Péret (Patrick Catalifo), Grindel's main assistant, carries an unidentified revolver. It looks like a MR-73 due to the shape of the hammer.

Ruger Security Six

Police officer Lutz (Xavier Deluc), one of Scatti's men, is armed with Ruger Security Six revolver. This is historically correct because Ruger Security Six was one of the service revolvers of the French police.

Pistols

M1911

Police inspector Spiero (Stéphane Jobert) is armed with M1911 pistol during most scenes of the movie (in the final scene he replaced it with MR-73 revolver).

Walther P38 is the weapon of Pierre Stadler (Féodor Atkine), former Red Brigades terrorist. He had no chance to use it when Scatti's men seized him.

Smith & Wesson 39

Nickel-plated Smith & Wesson Model 39-2 is the weapon of Le Stéphanois (Serge Reggiani), commissaire Grindel's informant. He was shot when riding on a carousel, but managed to fire his pistol several times - only to kill and wound innocent bystanders.

Star Model BM

In the opening scene a two-tone Star Model BM can be seen under the pillow of the criminal boss Ginzbaum (Rémy Kirch). He had no chance to use it when Scatti's "death squad" attacked his penthouse.

Spiero (Stéphane Jobert) uses a rocket launcher to destroy the Gendarmerie minivan. It is supposed to be a movie prop, based upon an RPG-7.

Custom Flamethrower (based on Milkor Stopper)

In the opening scene of the movie one of Scatti's men uses a custom flamethrower to burn alive criminal boss Ginzbaum. The flamethrower consists of the launcher and the glass ampoule with flammable liquid which is assembled to the launcher's muzzle. The launcher itself looks like Milkor Stopper.
