Kimar Very Flare Pistol
The Kimar Very Flare Pistol is a signal pistol chambered for 25mm (1 inch) flares. Although it does not appear to be exactly based on any particular pre existing design, it bears a strong resemblence to the the US Navy flare pistol used during WWII manufactured by a variety of companies (International Flare Signal co., Sklar and Kilgore), but can be distinguished by the shape of the frame and pistol grip. The name "Very" comes from the nickname given to single shot flare pistols of this general type designed by Edward Wilson Very (1847-1910). The Kimar Very pistol is made from a Zinc alloy called "Zamak" and has a blued finish as standard. Although all other pistols sold under the name Kimar (itself a divison of Chiappa) are only capable of blank fire, the Very pistol is able to fire any 25mm (1 inch) rounds.
