Just Cause 3 is an open world action-adventure developed by Avalanche Studios and published by Square Enix. It is a sequel to 2010's Just Cause 2 and was released for Windows PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One on December 1st 2015. In the 4rth December 2018, the sequel, Just Cause 4, was released.

The story follows newly-bearded professional dictator-uninstaller Rico Rodriguez, now revealed to not be Mexican after all as he returns to his Mediterranean homeland of Medici to deal with the reign of the tyrannical Sebastiano di Ravello, who has built a powerful militaristic state following the discovery of the mysterious super-element Bavarium in his country. Once again, it is up to Rico to overthrow him, largely through the medium of explosions.

The following weapons appear in the video game Just Cause 3:

Overview

Just Cause 3 simplifies the inventory system of 2 somewhat and pares down the additional systems; there is now no currency, with all weapons being available as rebel drops for free as long as Rico has a beacon to summon them, and no weapon upgrade system. New weapons can be picked up from defeated enemies or supply closets, and are unlocked for rebel drops by destroying specific military bases. Certain "antique" weapons instead require hidden parts be collected from burial sites around Medici.

Unlike 2 where it was possible to have mixed weapon pairs, there is now only one slot for small weapons which are automatically paired. Rico instead has two back weapon slots, one for his primary weapon (an assault rifle, shotgun or machine gun) and the other for a special weapon such as a sniper rifle, launcher or one of the "FOW" superweapons. Rico now carries more ammunition than before and has regenerating health (which he has a lot of) rather than using medkits and body armour, making gunfights a more palatable solution to assaulting bases.

The weapons in this game are mainly manufactured by two fictional corporations: Urga and Capstone; these respectively use the prefixes "U" and "CS" on their weapons. Urga's weapons are mainly based on Soviet or Eastern European designs, while Capstone's weapons are based on modern Western designs. Besides weapons, Urga and Capstone also manufacture many different types of vehicles.

Pistols

All sidearms in-game are dual-wielded.

"U-55S Pozhar"

Rico starts the game with two Pozhars. According to the Rebel Drop description, the Pozhar is a single-action, semi-automatic .45 pistol based on the P220. Pozhar (Пожар) is Russian for "house fire"

Rico eyeballs a rebel looting the corpse of a dead militia man, one "U-55S" in each hand.
A closer look at the pistols. The hammers are in DAO mode, which means that either the devs didn't know the difference between single-action and double-action, or it's just a very common modeling mistake.
Rico reloads his pistols, flicking away the empty mags.

"CS Spectre Mark V"

The "CS Spectre Mark V" bears some resemblance to the H&K Mark 23.

H&K Mark 23 - .45 ACP
Rico cringing at his own lack of trigger discipline.
After shooting away at nothing in particular, Rico reloads his CS Spectres with new mags by slapping the guns against his thighs, as per video game tradition.

Colt Single Action Army

The "CS44 Peacebringer" is the sole revolver in-game, and is classified as an exotic weapon. Its name and appearance are mainly based on the Colt Single Action Army, nicknamed the 'Peacemaker'. Unlike the real SAA, in-game the revolver is used in DA mode and has a swing-out cylinder. It also has a barrel vent rib in the Colt Python-style, and compensator.

Shotguns

"Automat U12"

The "Automat U12" shotgun is heavily based on the Pancor Jackhammer, with fictional "modern" furnishings and a straight magazine replacing the Jackhammer's cylinder like the Heckler & Koch CAWS. It can fire in fullauto and has a 14-shell magazine.

The U12 suffer from the same problem as the Prizmaks in that the magazine is still in the gun as Rico reloads it.
The Automat sends people flying when shot as one might expect in a game like Just Cause 3.

"U-96 Kladivo"

The "U-96 Kladivo" is a sawn-off pump-action shotgun based on the Mossberg 500A, presumably manufactured by Urga. It is used by both the Rebellion and Di Ravello's forces, and is Mario Frigo's weapon of choice in and out of cutscenes. "Kladivo" is a Czech for "Hammer".

"U-24 Zabijak"

Finding all the vintage weapon parts in Insula Forte allows Rico to dual-wield two "U-24 Zabijak"s, which appear to be loosely based on the sawed-off Winchester Model 1887, with receiver from Remington 870. The weapon works in a rather strange way in that they act like a double barrel shotgun, with Rico being able to fire of two shots from each and then reloading them with a fancy spin-cock. Zabiják means "killer" in Czech (and in few other Slavic languages). Oddly enough, the marking on the weapon calls it "Rys-12", although it is a completely different shotgun. It might have been it's pre-release name.

Rico spin-cocking his Zabijaks after some gun blasting. Note that the second "barrel" is the magazine tube, also note the ejection port. Each Zabijak can be fired twice before they are reloaded with a spin-cock, but no shells are ejected between shots, which would imply that the magazine tube is actually a second barrel, but since it's not, it raises the question over how this weapon even works at all.
That's not how a lever works.

Submachine Guns

Like the pistols, all submachine guns are dual-wielded.

"CS9 PDW-K"

The "CS9 PDW-K" is a high-powered, slow-firing SMG seemingly based primarily on the PM-06 Glauberyt, with the grip of an ST Kinetics CPW. It is made by Capstone.

KRISS SDP

The "CS Wraith 225R," bears some resemblance to the KRISS SDP with a strange extension added to the back of the gun behind the grip, and no magazine well.

Rico holds the Wraiths as he demonstrates trigger discipline so bad it caused him to spontaneously grow a beard. Note that the magazines don't extend out of the magazine well, yet they can still hold 30 rounds each.
Rico puts his Wraiths to good use.

"Prizmak U4"

The "Prizmak U4" is a very strange weapon, which appears to be a sawed-off Remington semi-auto shotgun (as the Model 1100) converted into a hideous rapid-fire SMG. "Prizmak" is possibly a misspelling of "Prizrak", which means "Spectre" (which may be a reference to Spectre M4 SMG, although the in-game gun only very faintly resembles the real gun).

Remington Model 1100 Sporting - 28 gauge

Contemplating whether to throw them in the lake.
Rico trying his best to put the Prizmaks to good use. They are in-game rather mediocre and should be replaced quickly.
A motorcycle cop failing to hide from Rico behind a rare type of non-explosive barrel.
After feeding the fishes, Rico reloads his Prizmaks. Note that the magazines don't actually fall out of the weapon.

Assault & Battle Rifles

"CS Predator"

The "CS Predator" rifle appears to be based on the Bushmaster ACR and has a stock from a AK-12.

Kel-Tec RFB

The "CS27 Misfortune" is a fictional lengthened version of the Kel-Tec RFB. It is fitted with a C-More optic and fires in four-round bursts, unlike the real RFB which is semi-auto only.

‎"U-39 Plechovka"

The "U-39 Plechovka" is a fictional AK-pattern carbine rifle. It seems to be based most of all on the Saiga-12K Tactical shotgun, with optional magazine guide, short barrel, "crutch" buttstock from a MPi-KMS-72 (with wood trim), and with the rear sight transferred to the back of the receiver. The bend of the magazine is reminiscent of magazines used by 5.56mm AK rifles. The general appearance of the weapon freely resembles various AK carbines such as the AKS-74U, Zastava M85 or Arsenal AR-SF. Plechovka roughly translates to "[something] on the shoulder" from Russian, and the Czech word "Plechovka" means "Can" or "Tin".

A "U-39 Plechovka" on Rico's back, alongside a slightly malformed RPG-7.
In spite of the beautiful night sky around him, Rico maintains a disdainful scowl.
A close up on the receiver when reloading shows that while the in-game name has been updated since the trailer, the markings clearly haven't gotten the memo. Furthermore, the serial number is somehow over 1 billion, the charging handle doesn't have enough space to move back to actually chamber a round, and, well... at this point, we should just give up on the issue of the safety being on.
A militiaman's attempt at killing Rico is stopped dead in its tracks as Rico uses his most deadly weapon of all: the pause button.
Different beautiful backdrop, same angry face.

SVU Dragunov

The "UPM61" is based on the SVU Dragunov, with a strange wooden addition below the handguard, a carry handle based on that of the Norinco Type 86S replacing the scope, and an AK-style pistol grip. Oddly, it is limited to semi-auto only. In the game it is more or less a designated marksman rifle that can be used in lieu of carrying a dedicated sniper rifle.

Reloading.

Machine Guns

"Urga Vdova 89"

The "Urga Vdova 89" is a machine gun hybrid of the M60 and PKM. It feeds from the right and has a wooden stock and pistol grip. Two are mounted on a special buggy. Vdova (Вдова) means "Widow" in Russian.

Rico ponders whether to use bullets or explosives on his fishing trip.
Finding the former ineffective, Rico reloads his M60/PKM hybrid in a rather Interesting way, note that there isn't any ammo in the box, it's actually already modeled in the weapon, look just right of Rico's right hand.
The environmentally-concerned individual he is, Rico encourages the citizens of Medici to drive electric cars via blowing up all their gas stations. Here he puts the PKM/M60 hybrid on his back after a job well done.

The aforementioned buggy with two Vdova 89s mounted on it for any excessive drive by shooting.
note that there isn't any ammo belt going into the weapons.

Sniper Rifles

"USV 45 Sokol"

The basic sniper rifle, the "USV 45 Sokol," is a cross between the Zastava M76 and SVD Dragunov. It's the only semi-auto sniper in the game. Sokol (Сокол) means "Falcon" in Russian.

Rico checks the chamber before reloading his "USV", showcasing a rare instance of trigger discipline.
Smacking in a new magazine.

"CS110 Archangel"

The "CS110 Archangel" appears to be the barrel of an Accuracy International AS50 on the body of a hybrid of the AS50 and Barrett Model 98 Bravo. It is the last sniper rifle unlocked. It is a bolt-action rifle. The rifle had no actual bolt on the model initially, but a patch added one after release. The bolt is however not animated.

Rico striking a pose like no other with the "Archangel" in hand.
A closer look at the old bolt-less receiver of the "CS110". Presumably the bolt was initially not added for some technical reason, possibly related to the physics engine, since neither bolt-action rifle had one.
Rico cycling the bolt, trying to shoot some Militia out on a oil rig.
Reloading the sniper shows Rico checking the chamber, something that wouldn't really be necessary on a bolt-action weapon.
New mag in...
...and cycling the nothing to chamber a new round.
The bolt on the CS110.

"Final Argument"

The "Final Argument" sniper rifle bears design cues from the PGM Ultima Ratio (general shape and the fact that Ultima Ratio is Final Argument in latin) and the Barrett M99 (general shape, the extended top rail and large muzzle brake). For no obvious reason it uses a side-mounted box magazine inserted behind the action. Like with the "CS110 Archangel", the weapon initially did not have a bolt, but this was fixed in a patch.

The weapon fires explosive rounds.

Rico finds a bonfire in the last place he'd expect, one wonders if any ghosts are nearby....
Upon a closer look at the rifle it's possible to see "FA .50 cal" marked on it. Also note that the weapon appears to be modeled with a lever-magazine release despite having a side-mounted magazine. Also note that weapon actually had a bolt before the usable model had one.
Rico overlooking the Sky fortress from the "Sky Fortress" DLC. Note that the weapon model now correctly has a bolt. Like the CS110 however, it's not animated.

Launchers

Heckler & Koch XM25

The "CS Negotiator" is a magazine-fed grenade launcher which resembles a simplified Heckler & Koch XM25 with no foregrip. It fires standard grenades that will fly in an arch and explode on impact with a rather excessive explosion.

Pansarskott m/86

The Pansarskott m/86, a Swedish variant of the M136 AT4 with a folding front grip, returns from Just Cause 2 now called the "Capstone Bloodhound." Initially it was exclusive to players who preordered through certain outlets, though it is now available to all players as paid DLC. It now also has an RPG-7-style pistol grip, presumably so it can reuse the UVK-13's animations.

Unlike its Just Cause 2 equivalent, the weapon fires laser-guided missiles.

RPG-7

The "UVK-13" is very similar to an RPG-7, albeit somewhat larger.

"Capstone Hydra"

A five-barrel rocket launcher based very loosely on the M202 FLASH, the "Hydra" fires all five rockets at once in a ragged spread.

"M488"

"M488" is one of the three "FOW" weapons in the game. It works similarly to the "UVK-13", but fires Bavarium-based warheads capable of destroying pretty much anything nearby.

Rico planning to take down a military outpost with his "M488"...
... takes aim...
... and it's gone!

"UPU-210"

Appearing to basically be a doubled-up Russian DP-64 grenade launcher, the "UPU-210" somehow fires six grenades at once.

Rico running and gunning with the launcher.
Rico wondering how this obviously four-barrel grenade launcher can fire six grenades.
This question is raised again as he reloads the weapon with only four grenades.

"Urga Stupka-210"

"Urga Stupka 210" is a portable mortar, that seems to have grips of an RPG-7. It is unlocked after finding all ancient tombs around Medici. "Stupka" (ступка) is the Russian word for "Mortar" in the sense of a kitchen or apothecary pestle and mortar: the correct term for the weapon is "minomet" (миномет).

Rico with his new "Urga Stupka-210".
When aiming, Rico grabs the carrying handle of the mortar.

Mounted Weapons

Hybrid AA Gun

The game's "Capstone FH155" anti-aircraft guns, said to be 40mm, are actually the base of a Rheinmetall Flugabwehrkanone 20 mm Zwilling with four oversized ZU-23 barrels. They are deadly weapons found in fixed positions in military bases, and will be used by enemy soldiers if Rico is above the ground, even if he is only on his parachute.

During a brief lull in the explosions, Rico poses heroically in front of an "FH155." Note the two ammunition feeds for four guns.
An experimental FH155 (with the barrels sawn-off for increased concealment) with hovering technology fails to impress Rico.

GE M134 Minigun

The "Urga Vulkan" is based on the M134 Minigun with a flash hider based on the muzzle of a GAU-8 (!). It appears on mounted positions and some vehicles. As in Just Cause 2, Rico can pick it up and use it himself; he now actually takes the ammunition box with him rather than leaving it behind. It is also now used by enemies; heavy soldiers with miniguns will appear in military bases on the Western and Northern islands. "Vulkan" (Вулкан) is also Russian for "Volcano"

"Dionysus PLDS-H"

A fictional laser designator for summoning cluster bomb strikes called the "Dionysus PLDS-H" is one of the game's "FOW" superweapons; it is not at all clear what FOW actually stands for. It is unlocked when the mission sequence to destroy the first area command centre is complete.
