Jigsaw (also known as Saw VIII) is a 2017 American horror film directed by Michael and Peter Spierig and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. It is the eighth installment in the Saw franchise. The film stars Matt Passmore, Tobin Bell, Callum Keith Rennie, Clé Bennett, Hannah Emily Anderson, Laura Vandervoort, and Paul Braunstein and was released in the United States on October 27, 2017, by Lionsgate.

10 years after Jigsaw's death, the police detain Edgar Munsen (Josiah Black), who warns them about a new "game". After that, the police begin to find the dead bodies of the participants in the new game. As the investigation progresses, suspicions grow, as Detective Haloran is confident that the new accomplice himself works in the police. At this time, five players are trying to survive in a new series of deadly tests.

While 2010's Saw 3D was originally intended to be the conclusion of the franchise, Stolberg and Goldfinger, both longtime series fans, pitched the script to Lionsgate, who subsequently greenlighted a new film. It was followed by a ninth installment, Spiral, in 2021.

The following weapons were used in the film Jigsaw:

Handguns

Glock 17

Unlike other police officers, Detective Brad Halloran (Callum Keith Rennie) carries a Glock 17 as his duty gun throughout the film. First, he, along with the other cops, shoot criminal Edgar Munsen, which gives Logan a reason to accuse him of Munsen's death. After that, the gun is seen in Halloran's hands during the raid on Bonneville's studio and during the confrontation with Logan and Eleanor in the barn. SWAT officers also carry Glock 17 pistols in leg holsters, notably during the aforementioned police raid.

The detective presses against the wall with his gun in hand, waiting for the officer to blow the door down.
Halloran finds a hidden room and is about to open it, keeping his Glock ready.
After following Logan and Eleanor, the detective approaches the farm where the game takes place.
He points the gun at Logan, believing him to be Jigsaw's accomplice.
During the brief confrontation, the gun falls on the table.
And when Brad gets up, Logan and Eleanor are already run away.

Glock 22

In the opening scene, police officers, including Officer Solomon (Shaquan Lewis), Officer Palermo (Troy Feldman) and Officer Kohler (uncredited), use 2nd Gen Glock 22 pistols during the chase for Edgar Munsen (Josiah Black). When the criminal grabs an unknown remote, everyone takes aim at him and later opens fire. Unlike his colleagues, Detective Keith Hunt (Clé Bennett) is armed with a 3rd Gen Glock 22. He holds it while pursuing Edgar and later during the raid on Bonneville's studio. Officers restraining reporters outside St. Peter's Hospital also carry pistols in belt holsters.

Ruger GP100

Eleanor Bonneville (Hannah Emily Anderson), a big Jigsaw fan, sets up a Ruger GP100 in the same "Magnum Eyehole" trap as in Saw II, displaying it when she shows her studio to Logan. When Logan and El find where the games are taking place, they go there, taking the gun with them. There, Eleanor puts the gun down and surrenders on Halloran's orders.

-And this.

At the farm, they find the "Bucket Room" where the first game took place.

Submachine Guns

Shotguns

Double Barreled Shotgun (Sawed Off)

Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) uses a Sawed-Off Double Barrel Shotgun in the final test of the barn game, taking part in person. He loads the cartridge while explaining the rules (at the same time shocking all the viewers by his appearance), and then puts the gun on the rack. Anna (Laura Vandervoort) immediately grabs it, planning to shoot Ryan (Paul Braunstein), but the gun backfires, killing her. Horrified, Ryan discovers that the phrase "here is your key to freedom" was literal, retrieving the destroyed keys to the shackles which Jigsaw had hidden inside the shell.

Sniper Rifles

Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Police

Logan (Matt Passmore) fires an Accuracy International Arctic Warfare Police at Edgar Munsen (Josiah Black). During the autopsy, he replaces the 7.62x51mm bullet with a 9x19mm bullet, knowing that only Halloran uses a 9mm pistol, framing him. The plausibility of this ruse actually being successful is unlikely in real life, given that 7.62x51mm is a much larger round than 9x19mm and would cause much more severe injuries.
