In Country

In Country (1989)

In Country is a 1989 feature film adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Bobbie Ann Mason. Directed by Norman Jewison, the film stars Emily Lloyd as Samantha Hughes, a young Kentuckian woman who discovers the war diary of his father who was killed in Vietnam. Bruce Willis co-stars as Emmett, the young woman's uncle and Vietnam veteran who also is trying to get through his own experiences fighting the war.
