Hunter was a television crime series that aired for seven seasons in the US on NBC from 1984 to 1991. The series starred Fred Dryer as Det. Sgt. Rick Hunter, a tough no-nonsense Los Angeles homicide detective who was partnered with Det. Sgt. Dee Dee McCall (Stepfanie Kramer) a former undercover female officer. In its latter seasons, the series received support from the actual Los Angeles Police Department, with then police Chief Daryl Gates making an appearance in the episode. Following the series' end in 1991, several television movies featuring the characters were produced.
