Hostiles is a 2017 period Western starring Christian Bale as Captain Joseph Blocker, a legendary veteran of the Civil War who is ordered by the Army to escort White Hawk (Wes Studi) an aging Cheyenne chief, back to his homeland in Montana due to his terminal illness. Along the way, they take along a recently widowed Rosalie Quaid (Rosamund Pike), after her family was massacred by Comanches. The film was directed by Scott Cooper (Black Mass) and the cast includes Adam Beach, Jesse Plemons, and Ben Foster.
