Grenade Mle 1915 “Bertrand N°1” (Inert)

The Grenade Mle 1915 "Bertrand is a French tear gas grenade developed during the First World War. It is made of an iron shell containing four metal spikes and a glass bulb filled with ethyl bromoacetate; when thrown the spikes shatter the bulb.. The grenade was unreliable and the bulb would often shatter by accidentally while on the move releasing the gas; this risk made it unpopular with soldiers.
