This is the standard pistol in the game. Holds 17 rounds (strangely, since only in reality it holds 15, while only a [[glock 17]] would hold 17 rounds) and is called the "Pistol". Carried by the VCPD, National Guard Soldiers, and most gangsters. The Inox version is also featured, but not as an in-game weapon. Vic notably uses an Inox version to threaten Umberto Robina when they first meet. Vic's Brother Lance also holds an Inox version when he arrives on the building where Vic killed Jerry Martinez and Diego Mendez.

The [[XM16E1]] is carried by by National Guardsmen, and comes with great accuracy and stopping power. At some point, Lance Vance refers to it as an M4, which is not only incorrect, but also anachronistic. It holds 30 rounds, despite being modeled with a 20-round magazine. While the M16A2 was developed in the early 80s, the US Army (who occupies Fort Baxter) didn't adopt it until 1988, four years after the game's events, so the use of the XM16E1 is (relatively) accurate.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is a 2006 sandbox/action adventure game. It is a prequel to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and is only available for the PS2 and PSP.

The following weapons appear in the video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories:

Handguns

Beretta 92F

The Beretta 92F is the standard pistol in the game. It holds 17 rounds, as opposed to the real weapon's usual 15-round capacity (real 17-round Beretta magazines have a deeper base, and weren't available during the game's setting). It is carried by the VCPD, National Guard Soldiers and most gangsters.

Beretta 92FS Inox

The Beretta 92FS Inox replaces the 92F in full-motion cutscenes. The protagonist Victor Vance uses one to threaten Umberto Robina when they first meet. Vic's brother Lance also holds an Inox version when he arrives on the building in the final mission. The 92FS Inox is never usable in gameplay. This variant is anachronistic, since it was introduced in 1990, while the game takes place in 1984.

Colt Python

The Colt Python returns; this time it is referred to as the "Equalizer" and comes with a non-functional telescopic sight. It usually kills with one shot, at the cost of a slow rate of fire. Armando Mendez notably uses one during the mission "Domo Arigato Domestoboto". One without a scope is carried by Lance in the intro cutscene of the mission "Caught as an Act", and by Phil Cassidy during the cutscene of "Blitzkrieg Strikes Again".

Shotguns

Browning 5.25 O/U - 12 gauge
In-game model.

Mossberg 500

A sawed-off Mossberg 500 appears as the "Stubby Shotgun". It has a wider shot spread than the other shotguns, but a shorter range.

Uzi

The Uzi is carried by SWAT and some gangsters. It has a good rate of fire and decent accuracy.

"SMG"

The foregrip is undersized, giving the appearance of a smooth forearm with a catch at the end as seen on the civilian SP89 variant, and the muzzle almost appears to be an attempt at an MP5SD suppressor (it extends past the forearm, but is thicker than a barrel should be.)

A little of this...
...a little of that...
...and a smidgeon of this...
... and voila! Rockstar's very own mutant MP5 thing.

The XM16E1 is carried by by National Guardsmen, and comes with great accuracy and stopping power.

Sniper Rifles

M21

The M21 replaces the Remington 700 from previous games. This is a rather inappropriate choice, as the real M21 is semi-automatic, whereas the in-game weapon still operates in bolt-action mode.

SVD Dragunov

The SVD Dragunov is the most powerful sniper rifle in the game. It holds 7 rounds per magazine (like the SR9(T) from GTA Vice City and GTA Liberty City Stories) rather than the real 10, and has a laser magnifying scope.

Heavy Weapons

M249E1 SAW

The M249E1 SAW appears in the game; it holds 100 rounds and is very powerful, being able to destroy vehicles very quickly. Phil Cassidy is seen using one in a firing range when he is first met by Vic. The player is tasked to use one from a helicopter in the mission in "Farewell to Arms", to shoot gang members attacking Gonzalez's men. During free roam, it can only found in one place, which is the movie studio in Prawn Island (unless the player shoots all 99 red balloons of game, in which case the M249 will spawn at every safehouse owned by Vic).

Handheld GAU-19/A

As in Liberty City Stories, the portable "Minigun" is modeled after a General Dynamics GAU-19/A.

M72 LAW

The M72 LAW appears, modified with a pistol grip and reloading capabilities. It is used by Vic during the mission "Turn on, Tune in, Bug out", to destroy several antennae being used by the DEA in their attempt to listen in on Vic and Lance. A group of thugs sent to intimidate the duo also uses one in the level "Light My Pyre" to destroy Lance's car.

Flamethrower

The fictional flamethrower seen in previous GTA games makes a final appearance in Vice City Stories.

Other

M230 Chain Gun

Vice City Stories features a version of the Hughes AH-64 Apache, known in-game as the "Hunter". It has an M230 Chain Gun in a chin mount, wing mounts containing eight AGM-114 Hellfire missiles in two packs of four, as well as two non-functional Hydra 70 rocket pods. Vic steals a "Hunter" from the army base in the penultimate mission of the game, then proceeds to used it in the final mission in order to shoot up a building. After the game is completed, the helicopter becomes available at the east entrance of the Escobar International Airport.

Remington 870 (airsoft)

An artwork of Bryan Forbes shows him holding a sawed-off Remington 870, more precisely an airsoft version as evidenced by the short box magazine.

Beretta M12

Although not used in the game, a Beretta M12 is seen in an artwork of Diego Mendez.
