The Girl Hunters is a 1963 British adaptation of Mickey Spillane's 1962 novel of the same name. In an interesting twist, hard-boiled private investigator Mike Hammer is played by Spillane himself in his acting debut.
The following weapons were used in the film The Girl Hunters:
Colt M1911A1
Mike Hammer (Mickey Spillane) carries a Colt M1911A1, first illegally, then legally. He describes it as a "Colt Automatic, Caliber .45." According to Mickey Spillane, "this awful Spanish gun," most likely a Star Model B, was to stand in for the Colt, but real Colt M1911s were later provided by notorious London gangster Billy Hill.
Colt Official Police
A security guard (uncredited) confronts Hammer with a Colt Official Police.
Smith & Wesson .32 Hand Ejector Third Model
Hammer takes what appears to be a Smith & Wesson .32 Hand Ejector Third Model off of Joe Grissi (Charles Farrell). He ejects all the rounds before giving it back to Grissi.
Walther P38
The Dragon (Larry Taylor) is armed with a Walther P38. The police however, describe it being chambered in ".32."
Double Barreled Shotgun
Hammer finds a Double Barreled Shotgun at the home of Laura Knapp (Shirley Eaton).
