From Corleone to Brooklyn (original title Da Corleone a Brooklyn) is a 1979 Italian crime movie directed by Umberto Lenzi. A Sicilian crime boss Barresi (Mario Merola) is arrested in New York. Commissioner Giorgio Berni (Maurizio Merli) has a mission to bring Salvatore Scalia (Biagio Pelligra), a criminal turned witness, to the trial. During the way from Sicilian town of Corleone to New York Berni and Scalia are under numerous attacks of mafia.

Submachine Guns

Custom submachine gun

During the assassination of Francesco Santoro, Salvatore Scalia (Biagio Pelligra) is armed with a submachine gun that appears to be the same custom weapon that is seen in Brothers Till We Die that was filmed in a previous year by the same film director Umberto Lenzi. It seems to be based on the receiver of Beretta Model 38/44. A folding buttstock is mounted instead of the fixed wooden one of the original gun, the wooden stock is covered with metal plates, the barrel is shortened, the gun is fitted with pistol grip, and the magazine well and short (20-rounds) magazine are covered with a wooden foregrip.
