Fleming: The Man Who Would Be Bond is a four-part miniseries that aired in 2014, presenting the slightly fictionalized exploits of Ian Fleming (Dominic Cooper), the author who created James Bond, during the decade leading up to his penning the first 007 novel. The series covers Fleming's life from 1938 to 1952 including his multiple affairs and his service for British Naval Intelligence during World War II.

Handguns

Luger P08

German officers carry Luger P08 pistols throughout the series, including one officer (Zsolt Trill) in Lisbon who has his Luger taken from his holster by Ilsa Kovacs (Bernadett Ostorhazi). In the second episode, a French Nazi collaborator (János Füzi) draws one at the docks and holds it on Commander Fleming.

Enfield No. 2 Mk.1*

Sub Lieutenant Hepworth (Harry Treadaway), the British Royal Navy lieutenant who accompanies Commander Fleming in France, draws and fires a Enfield No. 2 revolver in the second episode.

M1911A1

Commander Ian Fleming (Dominic Cooper) uses what appears to be a M1911A1 pistol when training in Canada during World War II at the outset of the third episode.

Submachine Guns

M1928A1 Thompson

Several of Fleming's elite 30 Assault Unit of British Army commanders, including Commander Ian Fleming (Dominic Cooper) himself, use M1928A1 Thompson submachine guns during training.

Sten Mk II
