Bofors Ak 5 / AK 5C / AK5D

The Ak 5 (automatkarbin 5 - literal translation "automatic carbine 5") is the Swedish version of the FNC. It was developed to replace the Ak 4. The first AK5 model was replaced by the newer "Bofors Ak 5C" in 2006, which featured a top and bottom rail system with a red-point sight and a front grip. A new type of magazine (translucent polymer) and a new customizeable stock were also implemented.

Bofors Ak 5 - 5.56x45mm NATO. Though not visible in the photo, the hand-guard is wider at the bottom than on the original FN-FNC. The charging-handle is also larger than on the original FN FNC.

Specifications - AK 5D

The AK 5D is a shorter version of the regular AK 5. It uses the same overall frame though shorter. The prototypes also features an uncharactaristic carrying handle.
