Escape 2000 (1982)

Note: The film was originally released as "Turkey Shoot. "Escape 2000 is the US release title. It was also retitled "Blood Camp Thatcher" in the UK.

The following guns were used in the 1982 Australian film Escape 2000:


MCG Replica M16

A Model Gun Corp replica of the M16 is the main rifle of the prison camp.

M16

When there is scene of the MCG rifle firing, it changes to an actual M16 with a thirty round magazine. They are mainly used in the final gunfight between the prisoners and the guards.

Colt CAR-15 Commando

One of the police officers arresting Paul Anders (Steve Railsback) carries this.

L1A1

One of the hunters (Gus Mercurio) carries an Australian L1A1 self-loading rifle with a scope,large magazine and sawn-off barrel configuration (In real life used in Vietnam, sometimes with XM148 UGL's). After the hunter is killed by Griff (Bill Young), he takes the rifle and uses it to fire at Thatcher (Michael Craig) and Jennifer (Carmen Duncan).

Winchester Model 70

Charles Thatcher (Michael Craig) uses a Winchester Model 70 as his weapon of choice throughout the film for the hunt.

Smith & Wesson Model 27

Ritter (Roger Ward) uses a long-barreled Smith & Wesson Model 27 when chasing Paul (Steve Railsback) and Chris (Olivia Hussey).

MP40

The MP40 is used by a few prison guards. It is also used by Tito (Michael Petrovitch) and some prisoners at the end.

M72 LAW

The M72 LAW rocket launcher is used by Paul (Steve Railsback) and another prisoner at the end.

MG42

Twin MG42s gun turrets are seen throughout the film. One is used by Paul (Steve Railsback) to kill Thatcher (Michael Craig) at the end.

Browning AN/M2

A Browning AN/M2 Machine gun is mounted on the Tito's jeep that Paul (Steve Railsback) and Chris (Olivia Hussey) steal.

M60

An M60 machine gun is seen mounted on the prison truck at the beginning and used by a prisoner at the end.

Colt Trooper

Paul (Steve Railsback) is briefly uses a nickel Colt Trooper to fire at guards at the end. He wasn't seen taking the revolver in the film, so it is assumed he took it from the Jeep that he and Chris stole.
