Equalizer 2000 (AKA Defender 2000) is a 1987 action movie directed by Cirio H. Santiago. In a post-nuclear Alaska, which has been turned in a hot desert, a Nazi-style group called "The Ownership" contends for rule over the territory. Disparate groups of rebels try to oppose The Ownership with little success until Slade (Richard Norton) creates a super-power weapon that he calls "Equalizer". The film was made during the height of the popularity of the Mad Max films, and Robert Patrick makes his first screen appearance in this movie.

The following weapons were used in the film Equalizer 2000:

"Equalizer"

The titular weapon of the movie, "Equalizer" (it is called "Equalizer", not "Equalizer 2000" in the movie) is based on a Colt Model 653 carbine (most likely Colt/Elisco Tools Model 653P, Philippine license-manufactured version), fitted with an M203 grenade launcher, a pair of overhead shotgun barrels and a pair of bottom mounted missile launchers. The launchers doesn't produce muzzle flash when firing, and the hissing sound is akin to a compressed air blast. The basic version of this weapon is made by Dixon's rebels, then it is improved by Slade (Richard Norton) who uses the weapon with devastating effect. During the following events "Equalizer" falls in hands of Deke (Robert Patrick), then of Lawton (William Steis), and in the final confrontation it is hold by Lawton's second-in-command Hayward (Frederick Bailey) until Slade reclaims the "Equalizer".

Handguns

Colt Trooper Mk III

During the opening battle Slade (Richard Norton) uses the Colt Trooper Mk III with 6" barrel. Same or similar revolver is used by Dixon (Rex Cutter). Deke's (Robert Patrick) personal handgun is Trooper with 4" barrel. Hayward (Frederick Bailey) uses the Trooper with 4" barrel during the attack on rebels instead of previously seen Colt Python.

Single Action Army "Cavalry" Model

Single Action Army "Cavalry" Model revolvers are used by Karen (Corinne Wahl) and Lawton (William Steis). Some rebels officers also carry SAA revolvers.

Unidentified revolver

Hayward (Frederick Bailey) holds the revolver with 4" barrel during the confrontation between Lawton's troops and Deke's gang. It resembles Colt Diamondback but has a different shape of front sight and vent rib.

M1911A1

Fletcher (Warren McLean), the leader of rebels unit, uses the M1911A1 during the shootout in the opening scene. Deke's henchman Alamo (Henry Strzalkowski) also carries the 1911.

Submachine Guns

Bolt Action Rifle

Some rebels carry bolt action hunting rifles. Winchester Model 70 is a possible though not necessary guess.

In the final battle one of the rebels is armed with unidentified long gun. It has pistol grip and possibly the bolt handle.

Assault Rifles

M16A1

Both rebels and Lawton's soldiers use M16A1 assault rifles. Many of them are dressed up as futuristic weapons.

Fake Rocket Launcher

Both Lawton's soldiers and rebels use various rocket launchers. They appear to be mockups, using pyrotechnical charges for muzzle smoke. The weapons differ in shape; at least three various props are used, including the tripple-barreled one.
