The End of the Emperor of the Taiga (Konets imperatora taygi) is a Soviet 1978 action movie directed by Vladimir Sarukhanov. The story takes place in mid-1920s in Khakassia, a region in south Siberia. It is based on real events, and the main characters of the movie are real people: Ivan Solovyov, the leader of anti-Soviet guerrilla warfare in Khakassia, and Arkady Golikov (later known as writer Arkady Gaidar), 18-years-old commander of Red Army special detachment.

Nagant 1895

Nagant M1895 revolvers are carried by most Red Army commanders, including Arkady Golikov (Andrei Rostotsky), and several Solovyov's commanders. All Nagants in the movie are of post-1930 model.

Mauser C96

Mauser C96 pistols are carried by Red Army commander Pavel Nikitin (German Kachin), Solovyov's bodyguard Akhmai (Nartai Begalin) and several other characters. Ivan Solovyov (Ivan Krasko) carries a Mauser in the final scene but never fires it.

Mauser Model 1910 Pocket Pistol

In the final scene Solovyov's chief of staff, former White Army officer (uncredited) is seen with a pocket pistol that is supposed to be a Mauser Model 1910.

Winchester Model 1895

Winchester Model 1895 Russian contract rifles and carbines of several versions are seen in hands of Solovyov's guards. In the final scene Arkady Golikov (Andrei Rostotsky) uses a Winchester Model 1895 carbine. Long and short sporterized Winchesters were later used in Ne stavte Leshemu kapkany....

Mosin Nagant/Frolov Bolt Action Shotgun

Evdokia Tikhonovna (Danuta Stolyarskaya) is seen with a bolt action shotgun in several scenes. The weapon is a so-called "frolovka", a conversion of Mosin Nagant Rifle in a hunting shotgun, designed by engineer Pyotr Frolov.

Lewis

Lewis machine guns are used by both Red Army and Solovyov's men. A single movie prop is used in the movie. It is converted aircraft gun has a makeshift barrel cover. Later the same movie prop was used in Bread, Gold and the Nagant Revolver (Khleb, zoloto, nagan).
