Death Race 2000 (1975)

Death Race 2000 is a 1975 cult science fiction film directed by Paul Bartel and produced by Roger Corman. The film is set in a dystopian future where the biggest form of entertainment is a sadistic transcontinental race where drivers win if they are the last one alive and gain points by running down innocent pedestrians. The film starred David Carradine as well as Sylvester Stallone in one of his earliest roles. The 2008 feature film "update" was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starred Jason Statham as Frankenstein, would subsequently spawn a DTV film series, and Death Race 2050, a direct sequel to this film, was released in 2017.
