Prokop (Radoslav Brzobohatý) makes a remarkable discovery. His experiments lead to the creation of an explosive with unimaginable destructive powers. he is surrounded by international interests trying to take advantage of the invention for military purposes. Prokop becomes a pilgrim on a road full of devilish temptations, intrigue and frustration, where he meets an unscrupulous and inscrutable girl named Kris (Magda Vásáryová).
