Crime Story (1986-1988)

Crime Story was a television crime series co-created by Chuck Adamson and executive produced by Michael Mann. Set during the early 1960's, the series was based on cases that Adamson investigated during his time as a Chicago Police detective. Dennis Farina (another former Chicago police officer who had previously appeared in Michael Mann's Thief) starred in the series as Lt. Mike Torello, a Chicago police detective in the Major Crimes Unit who was determined to take down Ray Luca (Anthony Denison), a young ambitious mobster. The series premiered in 1986 on NBC and for the first half of season one, the show was set in Chicago. In the second half of season one, the detectives became Federal agents and followed Ray Luca to Las Vegas, where the rest of the series would take place. The series aired for two seasons from 1986 to 1988.
