Cold in July is a 2014 crime thriller directed by Jim Mickle and written by Mickle and Nick Damici based on Joe R. Lansdale's novel of the same name. In the film, Richard Dane (Michael C. Hall) kills a burglar in his house, whose father (Sam Shepard) later seeks revenge. Things take a turn for the worse, when the burglar might not have been who the police make him out to be. The film takes place in East Texas in 1989.

The following weapons were used in the film Cold in July:

Richard Dane (Michael C. Hall) uses a Colt Official Police to kill a burglar in his house early on in the film. He also uses it during the warehouse shootout. In some scenes the Colt appears to be missing the ejector rod, and is possibly a stunt replica used for non-firing scenes.
