SIG-Sauer P229

A SIG-Sauer P229R is the sidearm carried by Sergeant Henry "Hank" Voight (Jason Beghe). Sometimes it changes into a two-tone P229R.

Glock 17

The Glock 17 is the sidearm carried by the majority of the detectives in the Special Intelligence Unit of the Chicago PD including Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda), Detective Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), and Alvin Olinsky (Elias Koteas). The Glock is also carried by the majority of the patrol officers on the show, including Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) and Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati).

3rd Generation Glock 17 - 9x19mm. Note the finger grooves, thumb reliefs, and accessory rail on the frame, which differentiate it from the older model.

Glock 19

Detective Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) carries a Glock 19 as her sidearm.

The series follows detectives who work out of the Special Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department.  Like ''Chicago Fire'', the series was co-created by Dick Wolf, who was responsible for the series ''[[Law & Order]]'' and its spinoffs.  The series also is set in the same universe as ''[[Law & Order: Special Victims Unit]]'', as evidenced by a Season 1 crossover episode with SVU.  The series premiered in the US on NBC in January of 2014.
