Call of Duty: Black Ops III is the twelfth installment in the Call of Duty series, and the fourth main entry in the Black Ops sub-franchise (the first being World at War). It is developed by Treyarch and published by Activision for the PC, PS4, XBoX One and will also be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 by Beenox and Mercenary Technology. The game was released on November 6th, 2015.

The following weapons appear in the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops III:

Handguns

"Annihilator"

A massive, single action revolver that fires depleted uranium rounds. It is the special weapon of multiplayer character Seraph. It is capable of one shot kills to any part of the body at any range.

It is also unlockable in campaign and can be reloaded, unlike its multiplayer counterpart. However, it lacks a reload animation and is simply moved out of view when reloaded.

"Bloodhound"

The "Bloodhound" is an 8-shot, semi-automatic revolver that appears in the Zombies map Shadows of Evil.

"L-CAR 9"

The "L-CAR 9" is a fully-automatic machine pistol that seems to be based primarily on the VBR-Belgium PDW. The data vault reveals it is chambered in 5.58x33mm and is of American origin.

"MR6"

The MR6 is a futuristic handgun fitted with a laser aiming module. It looks similar to the Lawgiver II pistol from Judge Dredd, which was a Beretta 92FS fitted in a plastic shell, with additional features such as the digital readout taken from the Lawgiver Mk. II from Dredd. According to the digital readout on the side of the gun, it is chambered in .40 S&W.

"RK5"

Seems to be loosely based on the Heckler & Koch USP Match with an extended magazine and appears to be two-toned. Fires in three round bursts. The data vault states it is from the United Kingdom and is chambered for 5.58x33mm.

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch MP7A1

The exact same MP7A1 model from Call of Duty: Black Ops II appears as a "hidden" weapon in the PC files. It was a placeholder.

"Bootlegger"

The "Bootlegger", a submachine gun exclusive to Zombies mode, is primarily based on the Sten Mk III, but has a pistol grip similar to that of the Australian Austen Mk I variant, as well as having an Art Deco design and a custom stock. Like the Sten Mk II from most previous games, it is incorrectly held from the magazine rather than the handguard, magwell or the assembly in front of the trigger guard. When Pack-a-Punched, it becomes the "Ein Sten", a play on the actual Sten submachine gun.

"HG 40"

The "HG 40", a futuristic version of the MP40, has been added via a March 2016 update.

"Kuda"

The "Kuda" is a "futurised" Heckler & Koch UMP. The data vault states it is South African in origin and is chambered for the 5.58x33mm round, making it a weird futuristic submachine gun firing a rifle like round.

Bo3kuda.jpg

"Pharo"

The "Pharo" is a futuristic SMG with a rather strange gimmick of 4-round bursts with automatic refiring; how this likely works is that the cam mechanism trips the firing mechanism during a burst and afterwards resets automatically, even with the trigger held down. Nevertheless, it shares the same burst-fire function like the "Chicom CQB" in Black Ops II.

Visually, it mostly resembles the Ruger MP9, but it also appears to be a spiritual successor to the MSMC from Black Ops II. It is South Korean in origin and is chambered for 9x24mm.

"Razorback"

The Razorback appears to be based on the Thor PDW, a fictional weapon using a TDI Vector-style offset recoil mechanism created by Crytek designer Pascal Eggert. It also features a G11-esque rotary charging handle. The Razorback appears to be a sibling of sorts with the Weevil, as it shares its 5.7x29mm chambering and Belgian origin.

"Vesper"

The "Vesper" is an even more futuristic version of the modified Jian She Type-05 that appeared in Black Ops II. It however fills the role that the Skorpion Evo III did in Black Ops 2: an SMG with an obscenely high fire rate, making it highly effective in close quarters. According to the data vault, it is French in origin and is chambered in 5.58x33mm.

"VMP"

A sub-machine gun based on the Beretta Mx4 Storm. It is however identical to the MP7 from Black Ops 2; an SMG with a 40-round magazine and a high fire rate, being highly popular online and a viable weapon even at higher ranks. The data vault reveals it is chambered in 5.58x33mm and is Italian in origin.

"Weevil"

The general shape of the "Weevil" appears to be primarily based on the FN P90 TR. Oddly, from the side it appears to actually be some kind of pistol with a suppressor and LAM reminiscent of the Heckler & Koch Mark 23 mounted in a large carbine stock, though precisely how a pistol could be made to feed from above or work with the stock primarily attaching to the slide is not clear. Its reload animation is identical to the P90 from the Modern Warfare series, and seems to be a futuristic successor to it; it is chambered in 5.7x29mm and is Belgian in origin.

Shotguns

"205 Brecci"

A drum-fed shotgun that fires in semi-automatic only. It is Italian in origin and fires 12 gauge shells, according to the data vault.

Bo3 205 Brecci.jpg

"Argus"

A futuristic lever-action shotgun based on the Winchester Model 1887 with a wire stock. Instead of a tube magazine it has what appears to be a turret rifle cylinder which is inserted into the right side of the receiver. It appears to fire slugs of some sort, as evidenced by its small spread and increased damage when ADS, making it a spiritual successor of sorts to the KSG from Black Ops 2.

"Haymaker 12"

The Haymaker 12 is a fully-automatic shotgun that feeds from a 16-round drum. However, its appearance is based more on an assault rifle such as the ACR. The data vault states it is American in origin and fires 12 gauge shotshells.

Bo3hay.jpg

"KRM-262"

The "KRM-262" appears to be somewhat based on the FP6 from Call of Duty: Ghosts. Interesting to note is that the shells are stored on the right side of the gun, covering the ejection port. In another interesting design choice, the shells are inserted on top of the gun, à la the shotguns from the Halo series, except the top part actually opens up for the shells to be inserted. The data vault states it is Italian in origin and fires 12 gauge shells.

Bo3krm.jpg

Remington 870

Another hidden weapon from the PC files. It uses the exact same custom Remington 870 model from Black Ops II, like the MP7. It was a placeholder as well.

Assault Rifles / Battle Rifles

Heckler & Koch HK416

This unnamed render based on the Heckler & Koch HK416 appears in the game files, but it is presumably replaced by the more futuristic-looking ICR-1 below.

Heckler & Koch HK416 with 14.5 inch barrel - 5.56x45mm NATO
The unnamed HK416 rifle. WA presumably stands for the in-game Winslow Accord, which is a coalition of Western nations including the United States, so it's likely that this could have been the standard-issue rifle for the US military.

"ICR-1"

The more futuristic version of the HK416 that replaced the render above, and given its relatively low damage and high accuracy, it is a spiritual successor to the M27 in Black Ops II. It is chambered in 5.56x45mm and is American in origin.

"HVK-30"

The gun looks similar to the FAL with a lot of AR frankenkibble thrown on it. It is described as being chambered in 7.62x35mm in the campaign's data vault and is American in origin.

Bo3hvk.jpg

"KN-44"

A futuristic AK variant, formerly known as the "ARAK" in the alpha and "ARK-7" in the beta. It is chiefly based on the AK-12 featured in the previous two installments, but unlike the AK-12 it doesn't have an ambidextrous charging handle; it is only on the right side like with traditional AKs. It also has distinct features such as a 7.62-styled magazine, a more diagonal stock similar to that of the original AK-47, and a deeper magazine well. It is a futuristic successor to the AK platform; the data vault states it is chambered in 7.62x39mm and 5.45x39mm and is Russian in origin. When equipped with the Extended Magazine attachment, its reload is identical to the AK-47 from the Modern Warfare games.

"M8A7"

The M8A7 is a 4-round burst firing assault rifle which seems to be designed after the Heckler & Koch SL8, though it's name implies it is a descendant of the identically functioning M8A1 from Black Ops II, which was based more on the Heckler & Koch XM8, though the weapon has a side mounted charging handle instead of a top mounted one. It is chambered in 7.62x35mm.

"Man-O-War"

This rifle is a futuristic version of the ACR. It is stated to be chambered in 7.8x54mm and is American in origin.

"MX Garand"

A futuristic version of the M1 Garand has been added via a February 2016 update; it is called the "MX Garand" in-game. Unlike the actual weapon, the bolt is not automatically locked back when an empty clip is ejected, nor does it automatically fly forward after inserting a new clip, requiring the player character to manually pull back the bolt before loading in a fresh clip, and then pull it again to release it from its locked back position to chamber the first round. Unlike its Call of Duty: World at War counterpart, a non-empty clip cannot be manually ejected, requiring the weapon be emptied before a reload can occur. Due to a glitch on the PC version, which has since been fixed, it was possible to manually eject a non-empty clip, but it used the exact same animations as the empty reload (though the glitched mid-clip reload had the clip be ejected after the bolt is pulled back), unlike in World at War which somewhat accurately depicts a non-empty reload with a different, and longer animation.

M1 Garand - .30-06

"Sheiva"

A semi-only DMR, the "Sheiva" is probably supposed to be a successor to the SVU or "SMR" from Black Ops II, though it is difficult to say which since the bullpup rifle is buried in chunky "future" embellishments. Oddly, several of its upgrades add wood furnishings. Marking on the weapons stock indicates it is of Indian origin, and is chambered for the Czech 7.62x45mm round.

"XR-2"

A futuristic bullpup rifle loosely based on the Tavor. It fires in three-round bursts.

Machine Guns

"48 Dredge"

The "48 Dredge" is a futuristic FN Minimi-based design that is loosely based on the M249-E2, but fires 6-round bursts automatically in a similar fashion to the Pharo. Given the LMGs' priority of sheer volume of suppressing fire over accuracy, the burst-fire is quite counter-intuitive to the weapon's role, but is probably deliberate in order to balance its otherwise high fire rate with the slower-firing LMGs. It is chambered in .308mm.

"BRM"

Another Minimi-based desgin, this time having a sliding stock like the Paratrooper variant. It feeds from a 75-round belt fed through a chute, and is probably a spiritual successor to Black Ops II's Mk 48. It is apparently Belgian in origin and feeds caseless 5.56 Brimstone ammunition.

"Dingo"

A fast-firing double-barreled machinegun with an aircraft-style cylindrical ammunition drum mounted diagonally in a configuration similar to the Zenit bullpup kit for the PKP Pecheneg, though the Dingo has a conventional layout. It is chambered in 5.49x39mm.

Bo3dingo.jpg

"Gorgon"

A slow-firing machine gun that actually looks more like an anti-material rifle given the muzzle brake and barrel. It is chambered in .50 caliber. It appears to possess a novel recoil-counterbalancing system; as the bolt goes back with each shot, a weight wrapped around the barrel moves forwards at the same time, presumably canceling out most of the felt recoil and improving accuracy. It is possibly based on the Blaser R93.

GorgonBO3.jpg

MG34 Panzerlauf

MG34 Panzerlauf machine guns can be seen in the hull mountings of King Tiger tanks encountered during the campaign level "Demon Within."

MG34 Panzerlauf with stock fitted - 7.92x57mm Mauser

MG42

MG42s appear in "Demon Within;" they are seen both in fixed mountings with 50-round drums, which is incorrect for weapons being used as medium machine guns which typically used 250-round belts, and mounted on Hanomag halftracks and King Tiger tanks encountered during the level. The latter is incorrect; since the MG42's barrel-change system was difficult to operate when it was mounted, German tanks used MG34s as AA weapons.

The MG42 has infinite ammunition if used and no limit to how long it can be fired; it appears to be a reworked version of the portable World at War model, and rather apathetically coughs ammunition out of a position just behind its ejection port.

MG42 - 7.92x57mm Mauser

Sniper Rifles

"Drakon"

This odd-looking sniper rifle appears to be a combination of the FG42 and WA2000, along with quite a lot of alcohol. According to the data vault, its Singaporean in origin and is chambered in 7.63x54mm.

In the future, weapons will be more complex than they have any real right to be.

"Locus"

Modeled on the FN Ballista. It is German in origin and is chambered for 8.6x70mm.

FN Ballista - .338 Lapua Magnum
Bo3locus.jpg

"P-06"

An unorthodox sniper rifle that fires a three-round burst instead of a single shot, and it has a charge-up delay before firing which is similar to the Storm PSR from Black Ops 2. Its appearance is primarily based on the Kel-Tec RFB carbine. Data vault info reveals it is Swiss in origin and is chambered for 7.8x50mm RAR.

Kel-Tec RFB Carbine - 7.62x51mm NATO

"SVG-100"

The game's high-caliber rifle. Formerly called the "Power-Bolt" in the beta. It is German in origin and is chambered for 12.7x99mm RAR. It utilizes a rather unique system for chambering rounds; instead of an bolt that the user manipulates to chamber the next round, parts of the barrel and receiver unfurl and the bolt travels back on its own, completing the process in a little over two seconds. Essentially, the rifle is a self-chambering bolt-action anti-material rifle.

The SVG-100 in the multiplayer loadout screen.

Launchers

"BlackCell"

An anti-vehicle missile launcher that only locks on to vehicles, much like the guided missile launchers from previous games. Despite its seemingly futuristic appearance, it is likely based on tripod-mounted launchers such as the Spike and ERYX, but scaled down for man-portable use. It is Thai in origin and fires an SRS-22 Air To Air missile.

The BlackCell in the loadout screen.

"XM-53"

Based on the Carl Gustav M3, with a Heckler & Koch XM25-style barrel. In campaign, it was referred as RPG in a characters voice. The data vault reveals it is American in origin and fires a 76x126mm warhead.
