Blackthorn is a 2011 Western directed by Mateo Gil. Set in Bolivia in 1927 (20 years after the famous shootout depicted in the 1968 film), the story focuses on an older Butch Cassidy (Sam Shepard) who's now living a quiet life as James Blackthorn.

Colt Single Action Army "Cavalry"

James Blackthorn (Sam Shepard) carries a Colt Single Action Army "Cavalry" model as his preferred sidearm. Young Butch Cassidy (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) also uses a "Cavalry" model in a flashback scene set in 1908. Various Bolivians also carry Colt Single Actions throughout the film.

A Bolivian shopkeeper carries a Bodeo M1889 revolver in a hip holster. Eduardo Apodaca (Eduardo Noriega) steals the revolver and uses it for much of the film, until Blackthorn gives his Webley .38 Mk IV back.
