Best Seller is a 1987 thriller starring Brian Dennehy as a cop turned author who meets up with a mysterious hitman (James Woods) who gives him a story that he promises will be an instant bestseller.

The main handgun used by the hitman Cleve (James Woods) is a Beretta 92SB. Cop turned best-selling author Dennis Meechum (Brian Dennehy) also is using one as well.

Smith & Wesson Model 36 "Chief's Special"

The Smith & Wesson Model 36 is the onduty revolver carried by Meechum. It also is the gun taken off Mr. Pearlman (Jeffrey Josephson) by Meechum at the police station.

Browning Hi-Power

Suppressed Browning Hi-Powers are carried by the gunmen wearing Nixon masks that pull the heist at the police lockup at the beginning of the film. In a continuity error, Cleve starts out using a Browning during the shootout at the industrial laundry, but it later turns into a Beretta SB.

A Smith & Wesson Model 29 is used by one of the shooters at the gun range. It also appears to be the gun that Cleve threatens Meechum with after a visit to the home of Cleve's parents.

M1903 Springfield

A scoped M1903A1 Springfield that Cleve used on a hit is dug up by Meechum for corroboration.

A pair of M1903A1 Springfield sniper rifles (.30-06) with 7.8x Unertl scopes. The guns pictured here were the actual rifles used in Letters from Iwo Jima (one is primary, the other is a back-up), and the rifle was fired by Master Sergeant Tom Minder, one of the technical advisors, in the film.
