Battleship is a 2012 science fiction film directed by Peter Berg (The Kingdom) and is loosely based on the famous Hasbro board game. The film follows US naval forces as they must repel an alien invasion that has begun from the Pacific Ocean. The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Rihanna, and Liam Neeson and was made with the cooperation of the Department of Defense and the US Navy, and several scenes were filmed aboard active US Navy destroyers and aircraft carriers.
