Backstrom is a television crime series that follows the cases assigned to the 'Special Crimes Unit' of the Portland Police Department, headed by the "overweight, offensive, irascible" Detective Lieutenant Everett Backstrom (Rainn Wilson) who, despite his grating qualities, is a terrific investigator.
