Atomic Blonde is an American 2017 spy thriller set in 1989 Berlin staring Charlize Theron as a MI-6 operative sent to retrieve a list of agents. Based on the graphic novel The Coldest City, the movie is directed by David Leitch and also stars James McAvoy, Sofia Boutella, and John Goodman .

A Stechkin APS is used to kill James Gasciogne, setting the plot into motion. Oddly, characters claim that a 7.62 Soviet round was recovered from the body, despite the APS being chambered in the 9x18mm round.
