On May 19, 2011, it was announced on Bohemia Interactive's official website that a third installment of ArmA series is under development and is set to be released exclusively for the PC in summer 2012. The story is set in the near-future and follows a special forces soldier, Captain Scott Miller, who becomes stranded on a Mediterranean island during an international conflict between NATO forces and an unknown eastern OPFOR alliance and must fight his way out, building an effective resistance force in the process.

Submachine Guns
CZ SCORPION EVO 3 A1
A CZ SCORPION EVO 3 A1 sub-machine gun is seen attached to the back of a combat diver.
Assault Rifles
FN F2000 Tactical
A fictional variant of the FN F2000 Tactical is used by American special forces soldiers and are fitted with a 20 inch barrel, C-more red dot sight, Monolith Arms rail system, and vertical foregrip. It has a P90's trigger guard/foregrip due to the aforementioned Monolith Arms rail system.
IMI Tavor TAR-21
The Tavor TAR-21 appears to be the standard rifle of the OpFor forces, and can be customized with a variety of sights and attachments.
Sniper Rifles
Mk. 14 Mod 0 Enhanced Battle Rifle
The Mk. 14 Mod 0 Enhanced Battle Rifle is used by American special forces soldiers.
Barrett M99
What appears to be a Barrett M99 is seen on a poster advertising the game. It appears to be missing its bipod.
Machine Guns
Knight's Armament Company LMG
A render of the KAC LMG is seen in ArmA III's promotional materials, fitted with a Magpul UBR stock.
Mounted Weapons
M61 Vulcan
The M61 Vulcan is most likely the secondary armament of the F-35 Lightning IIs.
