American Heist is a 2014 crime drama starring Hayden Christensen as James Kelly, a former criminal trying to turn his life around as a car mechanic in New Orleans after committing a robbery with his older brother Frankie (Adrien Brody). After being released from prison, Frankie who had been covering for his younger brother's involvement, tries to convince James to join him in one last job robbing a local bank with the gang of underworld connections which includes Sugar (Akon) and Ray (Tory Kittles).

The following weapons were used in the film American Heist:

Handguns

Chiappa Rhino 50DS

Frankie (Adrien Brody) uses a chrome Chiappa Rhino 50DS as his side arm during the bank robbery.

Chiappa Rhino 50DS (5" barrel version), hard chrome plating - .357 Magnum
Frankie firing his Rhino 50DS at NOPD officers, note the low position of the barrel.
Inside the bank, Frankie uses his Rhino 50DS to give directions to hostages.
Frankie holding his Rhino 50DS on his brother James, note the gun’s sights.
In the finale, Frankie holds his Rhino 50DS on James allowing a perfect view of the gun.

Beretta 8000 Cougar F

James, assigned as getaway car driver, keeps a Beretta 8000 Cougar F in his glove compartment and uses it during the robbery.

Beretta 8000 Cougar F - 9x19mm
On the left, an unloaded Cougar can be seen on top of photos of the bank location.
House (Aaron V. Williamson) loading the Cougar in preparation of the robbery.
The Beretta 92 heritage clearly shows on the Cougar in having an ambidextrous slide mounted safety.
James holding his Cougar on a hostage, showing the ‘traditional’ slide of the F-version.

Desert Eagle Mark XIX

Sugar (Akon) carries a chrome Desert Eagle Mark XIX with a muzzle brake as his side-arm throughout the movie.

Desert Eagle Mk XIX in brushed chrome finish and with a muzzle brake - .50AE
Sugar holding his Desert Eagle on James, allowing a good view of the picatinny rails on top of the barrel and the muzzle brake.
Sugar holding his Desert Eagle, in a double continuity error the slide is locked and the muzzle brake is missing.

Glock 17

Frankie and NOPD officers are seen using the Glock 17 Gen. 2 with a regular black finish, whereas Ray (Tory Kittles) can be seen using a Gen. 3 model with stainless steel slide.

2nd Generation Glock 17 - 9x19mm
Glock 17 (3rd Generation) with stainless steel slide - 9x19mm
Frankie threatening hostages with a Glock 17 that he’s just taken off a security guard.
In the pouring rain, a NOPD officer can be seen aiming his Glock at the bank building.
Ray using his Glock 17 to force the bank manager to open the bank’s vault.

Glock 19

In what seems to be a continuity error, Ray’s above described Glock 17 with stainless steel slide appears to be a shorter Glock 19 in the scene where the robbery is prepared.

Glock 19 (2nd Generation) - 9x19mm
The Glock 19 can be seen on the right on top of photos of the bank location.

Submachine Guns

Heckler & Koch UMP45

Several NOPD SWAT operatives can be seen with the Heckler & Koch UMP45 during shootouts with the hostage takers on the street.

Heckler & Koch UMP45 - .45 ACP
The SWAT operative firing his UMP45 in the finale, the straight magazine giving it away as the .45 ACP version.
In the rainy finale, a SWAT operative fires his UMP45 at the hostage takers from outside the bank.

Heckler & Koch MP5K

During the finale, another NOPD SWAT operative is firing a Heckler & Koch MP5K as the robbery flows out onto the street.

Heckler & Koch MP5K - 9x19mm
In what seems to be a rare sight, the SWAT operative on the right is actually using the sights on the MP5K.

Rifles

Colt M4A1

M4A1 carbines with RIS foregrip are used by both Sugar and Ray. NOPD officers are possibly also seen with this rifle, but the pouring rain on the street does not allow a conclusive identification.

Colt M4A1 with 6 position collapsible stock - 5.56x45mm
Ray with his M4A1 standing on a desk as he addresses bank customers.
Sugar with his M4A1 as he moves staff away from their desk to a central location inside the bank.
Ray aiming his M4A1 at the bank manager, even now maintaining trigger discipline.
Ray blasting away with his M4A1 in the first confrontation with NOPD officers.
Ray firing at NOPD officers, allowing a good view of the RIS handguards and overall looks of the M4A1 in action.
What could be an M4A1 is used by NOPD officers as they move hostages away from the bank in the pouring rain.

Colt Sporter I

Spoonie (Luis Da Silva Jr.) carries a Colt AR-15 Sporter Carbine carbine as his side arm during the robbery. It can be easily identified by the slabside receiver and the barrel length.

Colt Sporter I Carbine - 5.56x45mm
A good view of Spoonie’s Sporter I, clearly showing the slabside receiver and the lack of forward assist.
In one of the first scenes, Spoonie rushes into the bank with his Sporter I.
Spoonie threatening a bank customer with his Sporter I, note the slabside receive and the long barrel.

Colt Model 933

Two Colt Model 933s can be seen on a table as the gang prepare for the robbery, allowing a good view of the short 11.5" barrel.

Colt Model 933 with bayonet lug deleted - 5.56x45mm NATO
Two Model 933’s seen among items to be used for the robbery, the lower one having the original pistol grip.

AKU-94

Several NOPD SWAT operatives are using the AKU-94 with M4-style birdcage flash hider and lacking sights, a configuration unlikely to be expected as service weapon anywhere in the USA.

Maadi ARM in AKU-94 bullpup kit - 7.62x39mm
The SWAT operative aiming the AKU-94 configuration along what seems to be the empty mount of a scope.
This left-handed SWAT operative clearly shows why this gun should only be operated by right-hand users.

Bushmaster M17S (prop)

At the start of the robbery, Sugar jumps across a counter. For a few seconds, his M4A1 carbine becomes a prop resembling the Bushmaster M17S, probably for safety reasons.

Custom AR-15 (PWS Diablo)

Several NOPD officers and SWAT operatives carry what appear to be custom AR-15 carbines equipped with a holographic sight and/or tactical light.

Sniper Rifles

Armalite AR-10SB

In the final scene, a NOPD sniper in the background is seen taking position opposite the bank building with what looks very much like a Armalite AR-10SB.

Shotguns

Mossberg 500 "Persuader"

Several NOPD officers responding to 911 call about the bank robbery use the Mossberg 500 Persuader.

Serbu Super Shorty (Maverick Model 88)

Frankie carries a Serbu Super Shorty made from a Maverick Model 88 as his side arm. It can be distinguished from the Mossberg 500 by the lack of safety on top of the receiver.
