Alan Thicke (1947-2016) was a Canadian-born actor perhaps best known for his role as the father Jason Seaver in the ABC sitcom Growing Pains. He also was the host of the 1980's Canadian talk show The Alan Thicke Show and also worked as a composer of the themes for several game shows. In addition, he is the father of singer Robin Thicke. He passed away from an apparent heart attack at the age of 69 on December 13, 2016.
