A Taxi Driver (Korean title: 택시운전사, Taeksi unjeonsa) is a 2017 Korean action-drama film. Set in 1980 during the military dictatorship of Chun Doo-hwan, the film follows Kim Man-seob (Song Kang-ho), a poor taxi driver from Seoul who offers to drive German journalist Jürgen "Peter" Hinzpeter (Thomas Kretschmann) to the blockaded city of Gwangju during the Gwangju Uprising, unaware of the military's severe crackdown on the city's protesting citizens.
