Nice, but where's the trigger?

Movie poster for 9th Company (2005) (Russia)
Russian language poster for 9th Company aka 9 POTA (2005) (Russia). Note: Though IMDB lists the Russian name as "9 POTA" the cyrillic in the poster reads 9 "Roh-ta" with the "r" rolled on the tip of the tongue like in Spanish. Thus the 'phonetic' English wording used for the International Title is actually incorrect.

9th Company (9 POTA) is a 2005 Russian language film about a group of Soviet vets in the mountains of Afghanistan, during the Afghan-Russo War (1979-1989). The story deals with idealistic young soldiers who are fighting a desperate battle against the Mudjahideen fighters.

The weapons seen in this movie are:

AK74

Used by almost all Soviet and Duhki.

File:Http://www.russiablog.org/9thPlatoonAmbushed.jpg The GP-30 under barrel grenade launcher is intended for destroying manpower in open country or in uncovered trenches/foxholes, as well as on reverse slopes by direct and indirect fire, using the VOG-25 and VOG-25P caseless fragmentation rounds.

Being muzzle-loaded, the GP-30 enables to increase practical rate of fire 2-3 times compared with the US 40mm M203. The trigger mechanism is of double action.

The grenade launcher comes equipped with a leaf sight, which is used to correct grenade drift. Unlike the GP-25, the sight is mounted on the right side and requires no range adjustment. The grenade launcher can also fire non-lethal rounds

PK machine gun

Several 9th Company soldiers use the PKM: Chugainov is given Samyilin's old gun, which was disfigured by a hand grenade explosion. He can be seen in on scene trying to sight it to fire at a rock 3m away. One of the main characters grab's his PKM's barrel to bash a Duhki with it, receiving 3rd degree burns. The main character picks up the previous character's PKM after he is killed and uses in the scene after Sparrow's suicide.
