24 is an American television action series that starred Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer, a government operative who worked for a US intelligence agency known as the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU). Each season encompassed a 24 hour period (hence the series' title) in Jack Bauer's life as he attempted to thwart a dire threat to the country and events during each episode occurred in real time (including commercial breaks). The series, which aired on the FOX network as a regular series for eight seasons from 2001 to 2010, also inspired a videogame and a television movie. 24 returned to television in 2014 as a limited series with 24: Live Another Day.
