1944 is a 2015 Estonian war drama film directed by Elmo Nüganen (Names in Marble). The film deals with events of Estonians fighting in the German Army and the Soviet Red Army. In the first half of the film you follow the Estonian Waffen SS squad with Karl Tammik (Kaspar Velberg) during the Battle of Tannenberg Line. After a skirmish with Estonian Red Army soldiers accompanied the film Jüri Jõgi (Kristjan Üksküla) and his squad.
