Romanzo Criminale (lit. "Criminal Novel"- the English release kept the original Italian title) is a 2005 Italian crime drama directed by Michele Placido based on the 2002 novel of the same name. The book and movie were inspired by the true story of the Banda della Magliana; a crime syndicate that took over Rome in the 1970s.
The following weapons were used in the film Romanzo Criminale:
Pistols
Walther P38
Black (Riccardo Scamarcio) uses a Walther P38 (a fitting choice since the character is a Nazi sympathizer).
Beretta 92F
Dandy (Claudio Santammaria) uses what appears to be a Beretta 92F with pearl grips throughout the film. It is anachronistic since the weapon was introduced in 1984 and the film takes place between 1978 and 1981.
Browning Hi-Power
Ice (Kim Rossi Stuart) uses a Browning Hi-Power.
Shotguns
Unknown Shotgun
Buffalo is seen handling an unknown pump-action shotgun.
Submachine Guns
MAC-11
What appears to be a MAC-11 with the stock removed is used by Buffalo (Francesco Venditi) throughout the film.
Beretta M12
The Beretta M12 is used by police and gangsters.
IMI Uzi
A gangster uses an IMI Uzi.
